Shortly after I replaced the passenger side exhaust manifold with an OEM manifold I got another leak. Shop said it was the lower gasket on the manifold where it connects to the rest of the exhaust system. They replaced it with a new gasket and all was good. A few hundred miles and it came back...
So I have the dreaded horn sticking in cold weather in my 98....I can either repair it but the wheel itself has seen better days after 217k miles. Anyone know if a Gen 3 airbag wheel is a direct swap, airbag and all? I could also go the aftermarket route but don't know how to wire out the airbag...
Yep. I went through the FSM already. Was hoping someone would have some insight. Unless its a fuse or relay, I had to miss something. Everything worked perfect until replacing the AC control unit and switch. I even installed the original one which was working and nothing changed.
Just finished up the heater core on my 98 and even put in a new oem AC control unit along with a blower motor. When turning on fan nothing happens. I have triple checked all connections and don't think I missed anything. Also the AC compressor doesn't kick in when turned on. Any suggestions...
Anyone know if it’s ok to start it up and let it run without the passenger airbag? Would love to test the hoses for leaks before putting the dash back in.
I ended up getting a complete new core and it's costing me $150. I could have had it repaired where it was leaking for way less but figured I might as well go all out.
Yeah it was a little bit of a pain to get that out. I need to buy some new hoses anyways cut those old dry ones off to make it easier. Did you re-use factory hose clamps?
Was hoping the culprit was just the hoses leaking but it was the top of the heater core. Getting a whole new core made so it will be better than new. Should be done next week.
I did not have to wet sand. I started with Meguair's heavy cut compound and a microfiber cutting pad and since it finished so well I used Americana Finesse Polish and a black super soft finishing pad. I coated it with Ceramic Pro 9H followed with a top coat of Ceramic pro light. I will post...
Tackling my heater core this week. Got about 75% of what I need to remove out of the way. I stopped prior to removing passenger airbag. My thoughts are disconnect battery entirely, then loosen the nuts holding in the airbag to get some slack then just disconnect it. Is this the correct...
