planning to do rear axel oil change , I know it takes GL-5 80w or 90 w , but do I need to add limited SLIP differential additives? how do I know from VIN # if my 1998 with winter package has limited slip differential or not? thx

1998 Montero compass used to show up sometimes, randomly, not sure it is related but after valve cover gasket work not it is dead, even when I press 'S" button. any help will be appreciated gratefully. is this fuse issue? any where that might be?
