Good steel isn't much heavier. But for steel these days you're talking custom (good) or Surly (heavy). I had a heavy surly Moon Lander fat bike and the weight was oppressive.
That said, for a touring bike, steel might be more comfortable for a skinny tire. Though it you're going with a plus...
I have a big buddy propane heater. Works well and is safe for indoors.
They have a big and a little buddy.
They don't work well at high altitude though.

You know, the REI brand down bags are good and relatively inexpensive for down bags.
Anything over 700 fill power should have good loft and compressibility.
My wife has a Western Mountaineering down sleeping bag and loves it. It's light and packs away to nothing.

C. Mix. I'd also add in efficiency of space. I don't use Action Packers because there's too much dead space inside and out. I like the Frontrunner Wolf box because it's easy to fully use the inside space and the outside doesn't have any dead space in the shape.
