Block the sensors on the side of the hitch - just the inner sensors. The small uncovered area is enough for the sensor to still work while the covered area blocks them from picking up the hitch.
Like I have done for my Mitchell Bros Hitch
It is a shame the correct 300 etc was not used but hey - you have what you have and the 200 is a good engine just hard to get parts for these days - the diesel Disco 1 is a great offroad vehicle as was the 3.9 V8 (I had two from new) so enjoy (y)
I might have missed it but why was the correct 300tdi with R380 gearbox taken out and a 200tdi/LT77 installed - it would be better with the 300tdi and the R380 gearbox.
There is not much different between a LR4 on springs and a Landcruiser on springs - as bad as each other - one of the joys of the Discovery is its air suspension. Once you understand how it works - is very simple and easily maintained.
I have had that chart for many years and cannot recall where it came from. I have never seen the heights of the last RRC with air suspension - where did you find that? If you have heights I can add that to the heights I have.
Cheers
Garry
1. Attached are some heights
2. What you experienced is all normal - the battery was down a little (can be for a range of reasons and is not a fault) - the vehicle protects itself by shutting some non essential systems down such as the radio - hence low power etc. After driving it a...
I had looked into doing what you are doing a couple of years back - the one thing I would have done though is not to integrate the diff into the cars canbus and other systems and make it a manual system operated from the cabin.
To over simplfy the system, the car detects slip, and applies a...
Look up this link for the ARB experience in a LR4 - https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/arb-lockers-front-rear-d4-long-time-no-update-189750.html?highlight=ARB - but you are correct once you have the bits changing to the LR rear diff lock and then getting it programmed in is a good way to go but you...
It is easy to put an ARB air locker in the rear and the front - the front goes straight in. In the rear you need to swap out the LR4 diff with the LR3 diff (it goes straight in) and put in the LR3 ARB air locker - easy peasy.
Also if you go to the UK Disco3 forum there is plenty on putting the...
The Bronco might sell OK in the US but not anywhere else in the world - US vehicles have poor reputation for quality, are expensive and parts are expensive. As far as LR making a Grenadier style vehicle - well until it was announced that the old style Defender was to be stopped virtually none...
I am not sure what you are on about but the vehicle in the video is a Jeep Commander made from about 2004 to 2010.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Commander_(XK)
Here is an example.
This video got a lot of coverage in Australia and definitely damaged Jeep's reputation. By the end of 2019 Jeep sales had dropped dramatically, their CEO should have been sacked for boosting profits at the expense of after sales parts and service. Instead I guess that he...
Yes in Australia Jeeps are considered a bit of a joke, not because of their offroad capability but because of poor build quality, poor customer service and they have a reputation of bursting into flames - yes many catch fire here. Jeep has lost it here - even Jeep themselves have started...
The last thing you would want to do is get rid of the air suspension - is the best part of the vehicle - the air system is simple, so learn how it works. For extra security fit an Emergency Air Up system so you can raise each air bag individually with a tyre air compressor if there is a fault...
