Reread your history; how do you think guns were confiscated in Australia, England, and California? Registration, THEN confiscation.
Your plan for transfer won't affect criminals, either; It WILL make it easier for the government to relieve the populace of its weapons. See, criminals don't follow...
You're using semantics now. I'll take you at you original post, as you original words reveal much.
Didn't a wise man once say that "government governs best that governs least"?
That's probably "tired" as well, even if some don't want to hear it.
Shall we require a test to make sure you're "qualified" to use your freedom of assembly, religion or the press as well? Of course not; but none of those issues scare people to the degree that firearms do.
The answer to your question is no; but do we disallow crazy people to exercise the 1A? Many...
That doesn't mean it will STAY infringed. You couldn't own a pistol in DC until recently, because the Supreme Court struck down a bad law.
Just because the 2A has been infringed doesn't make it okay OR permanent.
If you'll mount an anchor in the floor of your garage, you can change tires pretty fast and safely. I have one in my shop, and Though I don't change tires regularly, I can do it much easier now.
"Tired", yet no meaningful response to it. It still tells the truth, as it did when it was new and less "tired".
And as for controlling people, I'll control myself. I don't need the government or its representative doing it. If YOU do, please volunteer to be the subject of a country that...
Title? You mean CERTIFICATE of title. It's the same document that allows the gov't to tax, and when said tax isn't paid, to confiscate.
Gun laws have nothing to do with common sense; gun laws are about incrementalism and little else.
Where, pray tell, does the Constitution permit any of this? Again, what part of "shall not be infringed" is too difficult to understand?
It might be what some want, but that doesn't mean it's Constitutional.
Very well put.
Those who want more gun laws while saying they respect the 2A aren't telling the whole story. They wait until someone breaks the law and THEN they call for more legislation against firearms; others don't wait; they erroneously believe that we can legislate morality with firearms.
Ditto. And requiring a test in order to exercise a Constitutional right is unconstitutional. What part of "shall not be infringed" don't we understand?
That COULDN'T have hurt them, could it?
I can't count how many sausages I've eaten or seen eaten after being dropped into the fire. Call it campfire spice.
Are you forgetting that the powers that be, especially the military, are citizens? I have no doubt that they'd take up arms in defense of the Constitution.
And tyrannical government isn't limited to ours; owning firearms may keep other nations from invading CONUS.
I was also hoping you cite the...
Trouble is, the 2A doesn't protect our right to use firearms for sporting purposes; it protects our right to own guns to throw off a tyrannical government.
And the NRA has never advocated the right of a citizen to own a shoulder fired rocket launcher. That's the job of the JPFO.:sombrero:
Yup. It's less important how big the projectile is as where you place it. I'd much rather use a gun I can control than a cannon I can't. But even a cannon will work if you practice, practice, practice.
If you're going through a thousand rounds in a session, a Dillon progressive press might serve you better. They're not cheap, but it'll save you plenty in the short (at this volume) run. I'm no fan of Dillon's paper catalog as the pages are filled with soft porn, but their equipment is great.
I bought a Redding Ultramag press, and I've wished every time I've used it that I'd bought a Bog Boss or RCBS Rockchucker press. The former is stronger for resizing wildcat cartriges, but almost all of my use is simple reloading; decapping, neck sizing, putting the primer and powder in, then...
