Sounds like Stellantis is on the right path.

They upped the axles in the wrangler 4xe to deal with the extra torque, same as a Rubicon. I suspect something similar here. The old Mega cab 1500's were 8 lug too for more gvw.

100k is nothing anymore. Heck, my current DD had 106k on it when I got it lol... about half as many miles as the 20yo truck it replaced. Even with my work discount... I am not buying a new one. Kinda sad, by the time I circle back around to be on the market again an average half ton will...

They finally killed it, please for the love of God let it stay dead - from a CDJR dealer parts manager Hemi camshaft thing usually seems to strike the 10k mile oil change believers. Not super common. Not a horrible job to DIY, not a far deviation from a normal old school cam/lifter swap. 3.6...

    Go Toyota - $10K Truck

Scares the crap out of me with my ranger. My propane tank is right behind where I park my long wb f-150... so I use the camera daily to avoid rearranging the landscape. Then I hop into my little 85 that turns on a dime with no camera... and all I can really do is hope nobody sneaked out of...

Sounds like Stellantis is on the right path.

See also WWI diesel electric submarines minus the capability to clutch the ice engines to the drivetrain while surfaced. Not super ground breaking for sure. Much harder to argue against at least from a performance standpoint than a pure ev though.

    Go Toyota - $10K Truck

I'd rather spend $10k on a used truck that has a radio...

    Bronco Mothership

The house we stayed in was near the Sam Houston National Forest... after being newly acquainted the concept of forest service roads, lets explore! So I got Garmin installed with maps of the park downloaded and we are off. I was running Gaia on my phone... kept losing cell reception...

    Bronco Mothership

Someday... I am making one of these with my Ranger tailgate. So yeah, despite her best efforts... I did manage to survive. Seriously she did awesome, not saying I have a done a ton of crazy stuff offroad because I haven't but she did way above an beyond anything I have ever done. If I...

    Bronco Mothership

A little bluerock shooting station we took a break at and went over recovery stuff. It was pretty basic, this a strap, this a kinetic rope, this is a clevis, this is a soft shackle etc. Hmm, that looks interesting. (the other half of our class that we were following from a distance)...

    Bronco Mothership

This was all dry a couple weeks before, the dragonflies were making up for lost time. Those are all little fish. Going over our first challenging obstacle.

    Bronco Mothership

When you see the photographer guy you knew something neat was coming up. Camera with a motion sensor was a sign too after I caught on he didn't just forget his camera sitting around. Near as I can tell cactus doesn't like happiness at all. There is dirt over there, nah the rock is...

    Bronco Mothership

I got a break after the marathon to get down there and it was my turn to be passenger princess and eat snacks, play with my phone (and gopros) and critique. She's... been around.

    Bronco Mothership

Did intros, a brief talk about what we were going to do and then off to class we went. Learned how to use park with the parking brakes correct among other things. How bow waves work and about fording water (general rule of thumb for a Bronco is the top of the bumper BTW) Bronco is...

    Bronco Mothership

We went down to the Off-Roadeo in Texas two weeks ago. I guess we had never really thought about it but if you drive your Bronco to an Offroadeo you get VIP parking up front. We had driven ours the farthest so we won the "Ironbutt award"... a sticker. (there was a guy that drove from...

    The Status of Overlanding Today

Imo the current status of overlanding at least online is "nobody overlands as righteously as i do" Ads in a magazine... lol. I blew them off years ago because they were basically cover to cover Toyota and jeep accessory ads. Little to no tech or technique, basically like "this old house"...

    New Bronco

Knowing nothing about that event in particular that sounds plausible. Permit getting denied was probably a shot over their bow since nobody was at the meeting. When we request blocking off the square for our annual car show we make sure we are represented at the city council meeting and park...

    New Bronco

Sounds like a organization issue more than anything else. Easter jeep safari must be better managed. Push/shove/whatever but there is more to a vehicle event than the badge on the grille. Bronco organizers couldn't even show up to the meeting.

    New Bronco

I work at a cdjr dealer and bounce between moving customers wranglers around and driving my wife's bronco. I think the jeeps dash/cowl is higher but the Bronco had a much larger and flatter hood with more line of sight blocking details on the outer front corners. Offroad with the tank slit...

    Long Distance '85 Ranger Build

Didn't really do any off-roading, to the point I never even locked in a hub. Checked out some cool historical stuff and ran a bunch of forest service roads. Trip went great, truck didn't miss a beat.
