I have a James Baroud Explorer Evo and love it! I would say go hardtop for ease of setup and definitely if you plan to camp where it rains or is windy. Only reason I see to go with a soft tent would be if you need the extra space, really want an annex or simply want to save some $$.

Amazing that you came along at the right time to save her! I wonder what caused those wounds (car, fighting, or worse yet if it was sick and cruel and intentional). Either way she was left to die and now has a second chance!

Was curious about the cargo bag you have on the JB rtt... I have an explorer evo, and not much luck finding info online...
Also, did the place you filled up mid trip have diesel?? Thanks!

Never really thought about that- doesn't seem to bother my bare feet, and for sure makes up and down in socks less treacherous.

Check out Dinoot Trailers. They are small and affordable. Really affordable if you go with the DIY kit.

Technically not "action" but:
Opened it!
Set it up there and admired the view!
And was very impressed with my wife when she lifted her half of it over her head to get it up and down from the rack... needed a better solution so now it hangs here and can be raised/lowered and installed...

That stuff seems to stay fairly flat until you get towards the tighter radius at the end of the roll- but not perfect. You could also try some flavor of:

Looks fantastic! I have been thinking/planning/drawing ideas so similar it's like you're in my head...! Perhaps one day I will actually turn ideas into something. Great looking work. I'm sure whoever buys it will enjoy it for a long time.
