I still have my 1953 3A I bought in 1969. The only way to get more power from a flathead is to replace it. The military vehicles from the 40's have a very week drivetrain that will not take any more torque.
You can probably contact Novak Enterprises and The Jeep Guy for more info. They have web...
You may need a pipe wrench or channel locks to turn the sleeve. They have photos and instructions on JK Forum.
The land rover guy can stay out of the jeep thread.
I have the Rockhard. It never rattles and can haul gas, jack and rack above the tire. You can add parts as you need or have funds. It also has a hitch built in. If you buy directly from vendor reps on the other Jeep forums you can get a discount. It is made in the USA. good luck on your choice.
Research the Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks. They are made in USA and come with a lifetime warranty. I like mine. You cannot find many bad reviews. My OME shocks that came with my springs only lasted 2 years. I think you will find the stock shocks will not last on washboard roads if you drive at...
My fridge never leaves the jeep. Costco is 25 miles away so the fridge is used to bring frozen and refrigerated items home allowing us to not to have to hurry home. I bought my fridge from Toyota of dallas a few years ago. $700 and free shipping.
Since there is only two of us, my back seat is...
My OME shocks failed just when the warranty ended. Two of the four gave it up. I would estimate they lasted 25,000 miles. I have switched to the Rancho 9000 adjustable shock. They have I lifetime warranty. We will see how they last.
58,000 miles on mine no problems. I have been to Utah, Arizona, Idaho and Washington. The only thing I feel may be light duty is the suspension. The stock springs would not support my load more than 6 months.
I have the Micro-start. It is good at what it is supposed to do, start vehicles. It will run and charge your ipod, phone, laptop. Peterson's 4wheel and off road magazine had a favorable review after a year testing. The review should be available on line.
How is the E1 holding up? We are trying to decide whether to make the jump to an offroad tent trailer.
