Why are the Discos so cheap? I bought this for $1k with a 4.6l & no rust.

Thanks Ray!! USAA is usually pretty good. And after research, I AM digging the Discos a little...

A "Toyota Guy" Buys a Classic

I took a quick peek when it was on the flatbed, but I was in too much pain for a close inspection. One of the reasons I love ‘90’s era vehicles so much is because they were built so sturdily. I may get lucky and there is no frame damage. But I’ve been fairly unlucky with vehicles the last...

Well, it's my USAA vs his Progressive at this point. I want to be made “whole” again, which includes getting Pippa back on her feet for the 4.6l I've already purchased for an engine swap. The value on these Classics is all over the place, but I can document that even without the...

A "Toyota Guy" Buys a Classic

Damn Shame So I’m on my way North on I-25 to watch the Army/Navy game. I’m cruising at 60 mph, enjoying the sounds of Pippa running flawlessly after $1,000s in repairs. I see the brake lights in fromt of me, I hit mine, and next thing I know WHAM!! I get rear-ended by a diesel Ram 2500 hauling...

Holy ******** So I’m completely head over heels with Pippa. Totally different driving experience from my 80 “Shrek”. It’s the seating position-I think-that I enjoy so much. But DAMN! She is draining me. Since I bought her in August, she’s had the following done: LT230 transfer case swap from a...

Is a RRC a reasonable daily driver?

I’m at the point of trying to decide whether to do an engine swap or not. I just had the BW transfer case swapped for an LT230, only to then discover I need a new starter and maybe ignition. Everytime I fix one issue, another pops up. At 205k miles, it’s to be expected. I now have the...

    Alaskan Camper Build Up

Lurking around in this thread instead of working, I realized I recognized this rig. Saw it in person at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs in 2015. The date was significant and the truck was a nice distraction from what was happening. It's even better looking in person...

    Wind resistant wide brim hats

I wear this straw when I'm working outside. Keeps my ears & neck from getting sunburned actually has loops for the stampede string. It has a nice sweatband & fits well; it's never blown off my head. It's my summer working "go-to" hat.

Thanks Mike! It was love at first site for me. I went to the Mexican restaurant across from where it was parked and had a margarita while I tried to talk myself out of it. Actually, the margarita did'nt help...hope to see you around!

My rack use is along the lines of "only if I have to". I could see spare fuel, maxtrax, firewood, etc. By the time I get those things & the tranny & transfer case, I won't be able to afford a RTT!

Honestly, the look of a "classic" rack on a RRC is part of the appeal. Why the preference for no sides?
