Oh, the "posi-lock" setup the S10 crowd uses? Yeah that would work fine, just get a good cable.

OK, so I had a brain-fart - the EVR is actually the solenoid that controls the vacuum EGR servo. It's not the thing I was suggesting, so disregard the EVR name from now on. What you want is the solenoid for the air pump, or smog pump, or secondary air injection - basically this here thing...

    Project "Danger Ranger"

EGR solenoid may burn up, it's a pulse-width-modulated solenoid and so it constantly cycles, giving it steady 12V for prolonged periods of time may be too much for it to handle. The EVR (emissions air pump) solenoid is an on-off solenoid, and it cares not how long you leave it on. It is also...

That's a neat trick with the CAD. I have somewhat of a love-hate relationship with them thinngs tho, I like the idea of them but the execution always tends to be somewhat dicey in older vehicles, and thus operation can get unreliable. I kinda like your idea tho, if you wanna do it as simple as...

Kinda doubt it, where would he run this thing? Rangers are pretty cluttered underneath so not much available space, and if he's about to build a matching trailer that would be way easier with a normal rear axle than the whole CVs mess...

To straight axle swap or not? Let's hear it.

Think I'll jump on the SAS bandwagon here. Now, keep in mind, if this were a halfton or larger truck, I'd say just keep the IFS and beef it up, plenty of aftermarket components out there for just that - I love GM's fullsize IFS in ride and handling, and it's a decently capable off the pavement...

Ideas for my 92 Ford Bronco build

This looks quite interesting. Gonna be removable, right? Estimated weight when completed? Oh, and nice touch on the team's blood types, it's amazing how something so important can get overlooked so easily - of course I sure as heck hope no one ever needs to use this info :D

That may be true, but people like yourself really do set the standard pretty high for the rest of us to catch up to :D

Any issues with using a new galvanised jeep gas tank for diesel fuel?

Just so you know, repurposing the "EMS" (emissions vent) port on top of the tank into a regular vent fed nice and high up is pretty much the standard practice for getting as much fuel as physically possible in the tank, like all the way to the fill cap even. But I can certainly see the appeal of...

Don't know what the Spectra kit includes, but yes compression fittings and steel line is how we did our Bronco tank as well. I actually quite hate working with compression fittings, but there was simply no space to double-flare the pickup assembly line. Tho now that I think aboit it even a...

Ideas for my 92 Ford Bronco build

That's cool. Yeah I think you're right in that lack of maintenance is what kills them, every truck we know of that's had issues with them had been rode hard and put away wet... That's good advice actually, it's super-easy to get carried away modding the truck and that ends up eating up both the...

Careful with the heated garage, she may just follow you there... Can't escape from mine anywhere, suppose it's my own fault for picking up a gearhead that's as bad as if not worse than I am, lol. Does have its advantages tho, she's my worst-case-scenario analyst and she excels at it, I'd say...

Ideas for my 92 Ford Bronco build

First thing I'd do is put a protective cover on that hi-lift back there. Then get rid of those automatic locking hubs and replace them with some good manual ones. Then put a stick-shift under the truck :D Replace the t-case with a manual one at the same time. Some nice additional forward lights...

    Project "Danger Ranger"

Clear and cloudy is better than fluted and clean! LOL Hit your local hardware or home improvement store and look for clear urethane deck coating, IIRC one of the MinWax products was also UV resistant. Then after you sand your lenses down to where the clowdy is gone enough to your liking, hit...

    Project "Danger Ranger"

Are your factory housings clear-lensed, or there are light pattern "flutes" on the inside of the "glass"? The reason I'm asking is when you do HIDs in a housing with "fluted" lens what ends up happening is there is a lot of light escaping in directions you generally do not want it to go in...

    Project "Danger Ranger"

Nice work on those skids. Should keep stray branches and such from causing havoc where you don't need it. Question about your HID swap, are you going to use the factory headlamp housings for that?

Green, you place too much faith in that check engine light. The rule with the EEC-IV ignition system is to always check for codes if you have any drivability problem, CEL be damned. Just a heads-up for next time ya ou know... Ghost, if he can hear the pump running there should be fuel shooting...

Have you pulled any trouble codes from the ECM? Also go rent a pressure gauge kit and hook it up to the fuel rail, then you'll know if the pump is doing its job for certain, you want 35-40 psi.
