Dalko I agree with your comments 100%.
As for the OP I think you would be surprised at the percentage of people who conceal carry, most every day, and the vast majority of them will never use their weapon but as was said previously it is a right, just like the freedom of speech.
My wife had just two non negotiable requirements for her to go remote camping. A hard side (at least partially) and a potty.
Since we have an 8' F-350 SRW cc we ended up ordering a Hallmark Everest with the side dinette and a cassette toilet. It's amazing how roomy it felt compared to other pop...
Beamer pilot- can you tell me more about your trailer. I'm looking for something to take our yaks with plus some extra storage and yours looks interesting.
PM me if you'd rather.
Thanks!

I believe the Grandby (8') is the largest camper they make.
We are buying a Hallmark Everest. This unit is 8.5' long and they have a 9.5' unit, the Cuchara

Yes their initial cost is more than FWC but by the time you add what we considered...

FWC does make a rugged camper but for us it seems a little too spartan. We are seriously looking at Hallmark campers. (www.hallmarkrv.com). Specifically we're looking at the Everest with an 8.5' bed. The main thing that is...
I am not too familiar with GM products but I would look at what the diesel version of your truck has.
Also, don't overlook your alternator. In the case with Ford, the alternator in my diesel is only 110 amps which is what they put in the fusion...I upgraded to a 185 amp unit and my batteries...
Many people who work in extreme Northern Alaska (oil fields etc.) just leave their equipment running full time. At -40°F it is very hard to start anything.
What kind of rig do you have??
We live down the road from you and know what you mean about the weather.
Unless I misread your post none of your alternatives will have A/C...so how do you square that with SHMBO?
In my situation my wife said that she wants a hard side so when we camp in bear country we'll have some semblance...
