Welcome to the AWD Club, lots of good info on site.
We also have a 2005 GMC Savana AWD with 190,000 , does not sit still much!!
Great traction for Wisconsin Winters
2005 GMC Savana AWD, with 190,000 miles and runs great for a daily driver and used for everything, have had 7 passangers belted in, and times have taken all chairs out and became a drywall hauler!!
been in 2' of snow and in 106 heat with it traveling.
Added 17" wheels and air bags in back...
I did almost the same thing as you are doing, only I put a Vista Cruiser Roof from a Olds Vista Cruiser Station Wagon with glass and sunroof, could not stand up in Van, but it sure was cool.
That was back in the late 70's
Take your time and learn as you go
I am still vanning and own a 2005 GMC...
Guess you never have driven a AWD GMC Savana van in winter -ours has sway bars and is the most stable in wind and snow I have ever driven, and yes I have had fords also
Death Traps you call the Chev vans ??
Then I should be dead-have driven vans all my life and I am 64 years young and still driving a GMC Savana AWD
It depends on how you drive them !!!!
After I got slammed into the rear end of our van in town, (girl was texting) or?
I installed lower bumper LED long tail lights !!!
because we carry bikes and other stuff in the rear of Vans and other trucks, people don't look up any more-so bright tails and the more the better
We have 180,000 miles on a 5.3 in a 2005 GMC Savana AWD and running great -EVERY DAY , running Synthetic oil-going to take it to the Max miles then put new engine in

AWD VANS are not easy to find
but here is one !!!!
I Know it is far away -but
You must have got the one we sent back with the same issue, no fuel, had to have been the tube from Propane to the stove.
Sent stove back and they sent complete new one!!!
New one works great -Love stove and pans
In our conversion van we use Cabela's -20 Down rectangle sleeping bags, not zipped together, and have nice air camping mats ,1" thick.
some times bags are a little hot, but never to cold!!
like sleeping in heaven!!
But only after a few years trying to make the 2wd work with tires, a lift, rear lockers, and maybe front and rear winches. 90% of the time 4x4 will only get you a few feet farther and a foot deeper.
I Second that- unless your going in lots of snow or offroad 4 wheeling.
Just like I said...
