Help Me Pick An Overland Rig

I have thought about a trailer and may go that route at some point. I'd like to build my truck to do be fairly capable on trails and I could pull a smaller off road style trailer but wouldn't want anything too big. I think I'd prefer to be able to just sleep in the back of the truck for that...

    Jack's 2007 Chevy Build

Just got through reading this whole thread. What a nice truck! I just made the decision to build my 2008 2500 Dmax crew cab truck into an overlander and this is very inspiring. I ran H2 rims on my last truck, an '02 2500 and really like the look. Do you still have your H2 rims and would you...

Help Me Pick An Overland Rig

Going to stick with truck for longer overlanding trips. I could do the panel too. That would be ************ with a Duramx or even a Cummins with some D60's and an Atlas. :luxhello: I'd sell the Jeeps to build that.

Help Me Pick An Overland Rig

Looks like they do but a bit pricey at $2150 with brush guard. I think it might be worth the extra cost though for the weight savings. Thanks for the tip. Will definitely be adding extra LED lighting. We have a lot of long open roads up here that go through lots of nothing with little traffic...

Carry a sidecar on a rack behind the truck? Yes it is possible.

Is this your new rig? Pretty nice but dang, that's a lot of rear overhang!:D I'm planning a cross country trip for this summer and will be pulling my Harley sidecar rig behind my Chevy 2500 but will be using a small trailer. Pulling a trailer can be a pain but I don't think I could have a...

Ural Owners: would you do it again?

Kind of late response here but check out the Hacks section at ADVrider.com. Tons of Ural info on there. Sovietsteeds is another good source. Sidecars are a blast!

Help Me Pick An Overland Rig

Okay, I have a question about front bumpers. I would like to replace the stock front bumper with a heavy duty one because we have lots of wildlife roaming around northern NV (deer, wild horses, etc). My buddy hit a deer and he had a cheap Westin type grill guard which just smashed in his grill...

Help Me Pick An Overland Rig

I am leaning towards building my own camper to replace my shell. It would be easy to make one that keeps the tailgate and has double doors above (like dutch doors) or just have the doors full height but behind the tailgate. I'm not sure I'd keep the tailgate though. There are plenty of other...

Help Me Pick An Overland Rig

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. I like this option as it is something that I considered building myself. Either a larger shell / camper like this or removing the bed and building a permanent camper with a pass through to the cab. Then I could always tow my Jeep behind it.

Help Me Pick An Overland Rig

I am kind of transitioning from more hard core off roading to overlanding, wanting to do longer trips and camping. I don't want to do the tent thing nor do I want a RTT (don't want to have to climb a ladder or lift up my dog) and want to sleep in the back of whatever rig I build. It would be...

    Dice...... The 1978 Jeep Wagoneer

In-N-Out urge! :) Hey, Hondo must be getting jealous! Is Wile E. going to get to ride in Dice? (I'm ChiliPepperGarage on ADVrdr) Gotta love the old stuff. When I was a kid my dad bought a new Wagoneer. Must have been early 60's. I'd love to find a clean one like Dice. Looking forward to see...

    Flatlanders Go West

Great report! I just went through that area a couple months ago. My sister who lives in Idledale (near Morrison / Red Rocks) was doing a foot race across Imogene from Ouray to Telluride. I met her in Telluride after the race and gave here a ride back to Ouray. Spent a little time exploring the...

    XJ project MORTY

Nice build! Any updates? I have a '98 XJ on 33's with 4.10 gears, ARB in front and Detroit in 8.25 rear. Of course, the 4.0 but I have a 5 speed. I have a bit more lift and do some pretty hard core wheeling with it but want to get into more overlanding trips. I live in NW Nevada near the...

    Post Pic's of your Jeep

'91 XJ on 33's. Going to D44's with lockers soon. 2006 WK Overland with 5.7 Hemi and QDII. This is more of a traveling / mild overlanding rig with just a 2" lift on 265/65-17 Nitto Grapplers. I just got a JBA front skid plate for it. I'm building a custom offroad camper trailer to tow behind...
