@smokeysevin Do any of the FOA shocks comes in a size that work for what I am trying to do?
Short of going custom, the only ones I am seeing that are either 2.0 or come with a reservoir are as follows:
Fox 2.0s
Toytec BOSS (Seems like a good price point?)
BILSTEIN B8 5160 - 25-243734
ICON has...
My wife is hoping we get a small travel trailer someday soon, so just want to make sure I can still tow as a I tweak the rear suspension.
@SportsmanJake The Archive Garage Shackle Flip looks like something I could possibly install, although drilling into my frame is probably not in the cards...
@smokeysevin Would that set up working for towing or hauling loads? I can see the benefit for off road adventures, but curious if would work for loads. ?? Thanks for the pics!
This weekend I tried out my eBay special awning / camp shade. Was at a dog training event and it worked great. Stakes that came with it are utter junk, but those are easy to upgrade.
$50 at Walmart. Seems to be working pretty good for us. I do wish it came with a bag, but wrapping it in a large contractor style garbage bag helps keep the smell down.
Do you have any pics of the Toytec one's installed? Looks like a good option to research. Thanks for sharing your experience with the Fox ones.
I did some searching on the Toytec, they seem like a good deal at $399.. It is on my short list of options at this point. Thanks @Kya for posting...
This is what I found when looking up my Bilsteins:
5100 Series Shock Absorber

Extended Length (IN): 22.4
Travel Length (IN): 8.56
Lower Mount: Eye 12mm
Upper Mount: Stem
Shaft Diameter: 14mm
Reservoir: No
I dug around ICON's website and they did not list that info...
Do you know specifically what Fox shock they are running on the rear? I'd like to research it a bit and read up on the shock.
If I go to Fox's website they say Part No. 980-24-674 . Its a 2" shock, and maybe that is enough. ...
I'm thinking the easy answer is the Fox option. Although a 2.5" option would be nice..... Hopefully something like that would interact ok with my Wheelers AAL pack.
Debating adding the overload bar back in to reduce what I feel is a bit of sag. Wonder how that might affect the ride? I...
Can anyone point me to any Gen 1 Tundras trucks running Kings front and rear? I searched for such a setup without luck. I'd like to read up on it if possible. Can't seem to find Kings for the rear, which means custom, which means $$$$$$. ?? Or maybe I just go with Fox for the rear?
Why Dakar...
Thanks, I will look into something like that. At the time I purchased it was recommended to me that the Bilsteins and the Add A Leaf was the way to go. So, that is why I went that route initially. That combo seemed to do better paired with the SAWs on the 01 Access Cab, so it seemed like a no...
I have King Coil Overs in the Front, just seeking to clean up the rear end as I am not as happy with how that turned out. I have about 15K miles on the whole setup. I think the Kings are ok for the front, but wish I had invested more time into researching a complete system. Just trying to...
My kids are getting to the age where they are harder to entertain. But, we leave the electronics home and try to use the time camping to play games, throw rocks, etc. I have to learn to to back off and let them do things rather than do things for them. Half the fun of camping is setting up...
