I did it on my truck and it works really well. You just have to be awayer of possible interfearance with your springs. I ended up ditching my leafs I favor of coilovers to free up more space for articulation.

Awesome! The jig was super simple and incredably helpful keeping everything in place during mock up. I still have several things I want to add to it. Most notably some LED lights to illuminate the bed when looking for stuff in the bed at night.

The tent is here! So I ordered my CVT Mt. Rainier on Wednesday and the plan was to drive down and pick it up on May 9th. On Thursday I got an e-mail shipping confirmation for the tent. After a few calls it turned out that there was some confusion at CVT and they accidentally sent my tent...

    97 F-350 CCLB build:

I really need to rebuild my turbo and put a 1.0ar on it. When I tow I can really feel all the leaks in my up pipes and the boost bleeding off. As always, the truck look good!

37" tires really aren't that big. My military take offs fit my '96 f250 at stock ride height. You should be fine with just a slight lift. Also decent aluminum 16.5 wheels with good offset are so cheap on Craigslist that it makes more sense to go that route unless you really need bead locks.

The low profile of my mounting hight puts the bottom of the tent around 5'6". My wife is 5'7" and I'm 5'10" so it will have to be close enough. About half of the annex opens up into the tent so head room won't be an issue there. I though about making a quick adjust height system but it would be...

I ordered my tent today and the tentative plan is to go pick it up on the weekend of May 9th. I also have a better idea of how to make my jig easier to use and adjust for level and square. Here is what I ordered http://www.cascadiatents.com/Mt-Rainier-Roof-Top-Tent.htm?m=87&&id=117

I got the main frame for the RTT rack welded up tonight. I was worried that it might warp out of square so I took a bunch of time to make sure the corners were fitting really nice and clamped super solid. The frame is made from 2x1x.125" tube. It is super stout. Ready to tack up I gusseted...

Looking good. I cut mine because I hated the look of the bumper hanging out there with the spacers. Super easy to do.

I made the jig for helping me position the tent frame at the correct height and centered in the bed. All I did was grab some 2x4s and a sheet of plywood to use as an analog for the footprint of the tent when folded. I made a simple frame with the 2x4s that will hold the main frame of the tent...

The tailgate opens and removes just like normal with this rack. The rack will unbolt and slide out the back with a little persuasion but is should be pretty easy. I don't anticipate needing to remove the fame of the rack for anything other than some more welding and painting.

Started the base for My RT rack The weather cooperated yesterday so I was able to get the base of my two part bed rack system started. The idea is to have a frame that is mounted to the bed that will also serve as a structure for several tie down mounts as well as a roll out canvas bed cover...

There is zero rubbing now. If you don't trim the body seam where the bottom of the fender bolts on it will rub because you can't push the fender liner back far enough but since we did he is completely rub free. The wheels he got had a pretty high offset so your H1 wheels will require some...

Last night I helped a friend put some 37" MTRs on his superduty. He has a stock 2003 F350 crew cab short be and he needed some new tires pretty bad. I told him how much I loved mine and were I got them from and next thing I know he had ordered a set of 100% tread military take offs for $900...

I went through the same thing you are. After considering all the same options I decided on an RTT. I am buying a CVT Mt Raineir next week and building a rack to mount it above the bed rails but below the roof line.

Looks like the trip went pretty good even with your few shake down issues. I didn't realize you were running straight bushings at the frame ends. That explains some of why you have had a hard time fully flexing out the front axle. Those EMF joints will make a big difference for the bind in your...

Here are some pictures of my truck at stock ride hight and the military 37" tires. Looking back I did trim the front lower edge of the bumper instead of spacing it out because I didn't like the look of it with the spacers. Your truck might not need that since it is already 2" taller than mine...

There is no fender trimming needed on our trucks for up to 37" tires. Just need to space the front bumper out with some washers. Mine was an f250 so yours would be even better since the f350s are about two inches taller from the factory. Also you can recalibrate the speedo in about five minutes...

I would love to go hydro boost, and I really appreciate the parts list! I will likely upgrade to a Saginaw ps pump at the same time but that is a little ways out. I totally agree that the brakes leave something to be desired on these trucks, especially when the booster isn't helping! Also I...

Glad to see more OBS crew cabs on here! I was able to drop my highway cruising rpm from 2400 to 1900 @65 mph with 37" tires. If you want to go the cheap route just get some military take off MTR or Baja TAs and call it a day. I only paid $800 shipped for five 90%+ MTRs and they have been great...
