When the switch is toggled between the positions, doesn't the memory (clock, settings, etc.) reset? I assume the memory is tied to the constant power. I'd like to do the same, but don't want the stereo to reset it's memory every time I switch to a different source.
Question for those who have mounted things to the floor of an Express:
How did you drill/mount your items? I'd like to mount L-track down the center of my van, and potentially add a seat. Of course, practically the entire underbody of the van is covered with a heat shield. Is there a clever...
33" tire will fit, but rubbing/interference will depend on your wheel offset.
Also, I noticed in a different thread that you are looking to add a backup camera. I have a like new one that fits into the 3rd brake light spot that I decided not to use - let me know if you're interested..
Update: I ended up with one of the larger Double DIN units (~7+" depth-wise) and it fit no problem. I'd go as far as to say you can fit just about any aftermarket stereo in these vans.
Is the stock stereo in the Express a standard Double DIN unit or GM-specific size? I want to replace my stock unit so I can hook up a backup cam, but the options Crutchfield is spitting out seem really limited. Anybody have the same experience? Any recommendations on a Double DIN stereo that...
Does anybody have an opinion on the semi-translucent lids vs the opaque lids? Is the skylight effect from the tinted lid useful/enjoyable or mostly a nuisance?
Love that two tone and the bold colors! Color matched bedliner looks great too - what are you using? I remember you had some issues with the product you used on your sprinter.
Care to reveal how your planning to setup the charge input (Solar+Alternator) on the Yeti? I've read the thread on...
I unit itself shouldn't be too hard to remove. Putting in a U for the heater lines should also be simple. I'm less confident about the A/C. I'd like the front A/C to be fully operational, and am not sure how removing the components from the back will affect it. Mostly wondering if cut & cap...
Can anybody ID the wheels overland_drifter is using? He doesn't seem to be that active on here.
They look like ProComp 69 series alloys to me, but those have 4.75" BS and -6mm of offset in the 17" size. I really like the look, but the 5" BS and 0mm offset wheels overland_drifter is running...
Bumping this question of mine. Has anybody removed the rear unit either themselves or with the help of a professional? Any idea of the cost and complexity?
Ouray and Silverton eh? Good spots to visit! Really like that shot of the ice park.
Quick question - how does the van do in terms of condensation buildup in the winter months? Do you find that the added moisture from wet ski gear creates problems overnight? I'm planning to use my van as a ski...
Thanks Thom. In my search for a used Express/Savana I'd been limiting myself to the barn door models due to concerns about tire clearance. Sounds like the slider is not as much of a limitation as I thought.
