Only have about 2500km on the car so far, and averaging about 8.0L/100km, between both highway and city (during the winter months with winter wheels and tires). I'm also in Calgary and travel to the mountains, so I've really yet to have a tank where I didn't do large elevation changes on it...
Just picked up a 2014 Crosstrek Hybrid.
Not sure what mods to do so far. I was going to install a hitch, but might be rethinking that for a roof top basket and LED light bar.
I just picked up a Plasma Green like the pictures. I test drove both the Sport and the Hybrid. The hybrid gives a little more kick accelerating, and I like the Start/Stop nature of it in traffic. Yes it costs a little more, but it also feels more upscale than the Sport's (at least in Canada). In...
Thanks for sharing. Thats pretty interesting. Still a little pricey for our off road style trailers, but great for bigger trailers.
Hopefully the technology will continue to improve and the cost come down a bit more.
Ya, we were just passing through Quesnel when I saw the trailer and pulled a u-turn. I think I saw Matt post pictures from that trip on his FB page.
Anyways, yes, more mods to come. I'm heading out camping this coming weekend at Burnt Timber. Hopefully the next time I'm home I'll get the tongue...
Reviving a bit of an old thread here, but I have some questions for those running the HS2000 in their RTT. I have a Bushranger 200 tent and I'm wondering if the HS2000 would be sufficient or if I should bump up to the HS2800.
I'd like to extend the season as much as possible and get out more...
ok, back to the build portion of the "build" thread. The PT 2x4's for the spare tire mount servered their purpose for the first year, but it needed to go. I decided I would mount the tire to the back gate of the trailer.
Here is my "test fit". Tire & mount are being held by my cargo rack...
After leaving PR, we heading back through Prince George and then south.
Found another Bushranger tent on a M101 ? trailer. I think this was in Quesnel
Some nice roads to drive through
All set up near Kaslo
It was a great trip through some of BC. Trailer towed great behind the jeep, just a...
Hey Guys,
So I thought I would post some progress as I go through "building" up my trailer. It's more so modifying the existing trailer to suit what I want to do. By no means doing the sort of builds that many on here have done. I bought the trailer just over a year ago, and have made some...
I didn't see you mention it above. With how the box is sitting and the wheels now mounted, it looks like there may be a conflict with any fender that you run. (or do you have a solution already)
I'm going to be hooking up heat to my kakadu this year for extended camping. Nights in alberta don't get too hot but they can certainly get cold.
While mine isn't quite a RTT it's close enough.
I'm looking at going with the propex heatsource. Yes, quite expensive, but with the size of my trailer, and the winter camping I want to do soon, I think it'll be the best option for me.
Saw a guy do this on the trail once. Had to scab together something (can't remember now what it was) on his front axle/steering. We used random bolts/scrap metal we could find in our trucks. He managed to get off the trail and onto his trailer.
Definitely a cool site to see.
