In order to help people connect the vendor names with the awning pics w/o having to scroll up/down, would you mind updating your post with the manufacturer's name? This is a GREAT shot of your setup and the doggo!!!! I miss my doggo something fierce.
I have the Batwing by Rhino and don't have an appreciation for the material thickness vs UV protection stuff. Rhino says that the awning is xxxx SPF or whatever and I don't really care as something is better than nothing in the Southwest! But, I'd like a free standing for quick deployment and...
I have to say, the Darche (is it pronounced Darshe?) and the OVS units have great coverage with the OVS unit considerably heavier but the price points are about the same.
Can someone confirm if the Darche Eclipse unit can be comfortably free standing even with a slight breeze. Their site says...
I'm liking the OVS unit and wanted to compare some weight numbers as I'm hyper conscientious about loading up the roof weight on the 80 series. I've also included the MSRP for all items. Remember, 4th of July sales are coming up (y).

That's a good looking setup amigo! As far as the "toughest, strongest RTT" out there, not sure how you came to that conclusion unless you've owned all kinds of RTTs already and have personal experience to pull from. Seems like the alum shell tents would out tough a fiberglass tent, no? I...
I have a buddy with the same awning on a 2016 landcruiser and his door spoiler bumps up against the bottom of one of the rail. Not a big deal from what I can tell, he just put a strip of foam under that rail. His awning is mounted on a front runner rack, I believe so that might impact the...
Yup, that's exactly what I'm doing now except I don't have a fancy extruded anything here in the garage so I'm making one up using a square tubing.
Thank you sir, that's a concept I haven't considered. Their ladded is a hook style vs mine is a eye style. Still, this has some merit and I'll think about coming up with a design similar to this one.
That's the easy part, show me the part that's going to be attached to the RTT. However, I'd like to use the pin in the pic unless there's something sexy that can stay with the attachment point on the side of the RTT.
I'd like to find a cool way to connect the top of my ladder to the Autohome RTT. I'm thinking using a simple pin system to connect the ladder to the receiving system, which will be bolted to the side of the lower part of my RTT. Please let me know if you have ideas for the receiver system!
At the very least, get a pair of Air Lift air bags from Amazon for less than $100 and stick them inside the rear springs. Even if you have aftermarket springs, having air bags will help with the trailer tongue load and not give you a saggy bottom! For now, the air bags inside the stock springs...
