    reseal fixed windows

If your window is held by an inside bezel screwed into the outer frame then you may want to consider using a small bulb seal around the lip on the outer window. This will be compressed when it’s clamped in place forming a waterproof seal. This method allows you to remove the window in the future.

Why aren't more tacoma owners up in arms about their trucks?

I'm not personally a big fan of the Tacoma, to me it seems they took a very capable Hilux and softened it to the point its better suited to on road use. To make the vehicle off road capable takes thousands of dollars of after market parts, and them you still have to deal with a light load...

    Issues with Inka Outdoors

I haven’t looked at this thread in a while. Reading the updates I wanted to say how sorry I was to hear that many of you had lost money with these companies. The Overlanding world is very small and things like this effect us all. If any of you are going to Expo West please drop by our booth...

Hot water in a Chaser !!!!????

Keep in mind if you use a heat exchanger you have to keep water pumping through the unit, which results in high water consumption. A sailors shower is wet down, soap, and rinse which you can do if you have a warm water reservoir. It doesn’t have to be complex, just a bucket of warm water with...

    AT Tacoma Habitat: Official Thread

Josh, the skin of the Habitat is treated with Sharkhide clear coating to help prevent oxidization. If you use any solvent on it it will remove the coating and need to be reapplied. The grade of aircraft track used has an effect on how snug the fittings work in the track, the rings are...

    AT Tacoma Habitat: Official Thread

We use the aircraft track for the factory install, then make the crossbars. We believe it’s a good option as the track we use is military grade and allows for movable studs to attach the cross bars plus rings for attachment points. I would steer you way from Yakima and Thule track as both of...

Tearing down trailer to fix issues. Have some questions and need some advice.

You can also seal the plywood with a polyurethane, as Bed liner is also polyurethane based it will bond to it. The coating of the plywood not only protects the ply it stops it from absorbing the bed liner allowing the coating to set up correctly.

    Trailer Brakes?

Yes these are also good options worth looking into.

    Trailer Brakes?

The 10” brakes will lock up the wheel if enough power is directed to them via the controller. The brakes shouldn’t lock up under normal usage, I would first check the amount of power being sent to the brakes, then check brake adjustment. If you are still having issues it’s internal and could...

    Trailer Brakes?

Sorry no info on the Samurai springs. Over the years I have seen a lot of home built Trailers use the set up and be very happy with it. Standard trailer springs are not suited for off road use. You need something around 36” long with a wrapped eye as a minimum.

    Trailer Brakes?

As everyone say get the trailer brakes. Do some research before buying a torsion axle. They don’t perform that well off road, and there is no field repair if they fail. For your light weight trailer some Suzuki Samurai leaf spring might be a better alternative.

    Issues with Inka Outdoors

I’m beginning to think this thread is cursed. As with all non direct, non face to face conversations there can be a lot of confusion and misinterpretation when trying to work out what people are saying and what they actually mean. Being dyslexic it’s a real challenge for me to write what I’m...

    Mounting to exterior of FWC?

If you can locate the internal aluminum square tubing to bolt through then you are golden. You can also drill through “hollow” areas and bolt through using washers on the exterior and interior to spread the load and a spacer in between to prevent crushing, for lighter items only. There is also...

    Overwhelmed, need advice.

If you want a very good complete system that is relatively easy to install, very reliable, and produces great power I’d suggest one of the GoPower kits. We use a lot of the 200 watt flexible kits. https://gpelectric.com/products/flex-200-solar-kit/

    Ford F250 Navstar powered problem

The injectors are operated using a high pressure oil system, so while they are electronically controlled as far as timing goes it’s high oil pressure that makes them function. The crank case position sensor is notoriously for malfunctioning. Most of us carry a spare around with us, as it’s...

    Ford F250 Navstar powered problem

I’d check the wiring harness for the injectors. It goes under the valve cover on both sides and is prone to becoming brittle and causing issues. Lots of threads online about intermittent power issues with 7.3 engines. Here is one example...

    Issues with Inka Outdoors

I understand what you are saying and respect what you are saying. This is just a sad thread and I don’t want to have any negative impact from it on my company. Financing anything has its costs no matter how you pay for it. The cost of cash is either built into the price by the seller, or it’s...

    Issues with Inka Outdoors

I see you are mentioning my company AT Overland/ Adventure Trailers in your post. Please do not lump our company in this those mentioned here in this thread, who are reported to have taken customers money, not produced product, and look like they are filing for bankruptcy. We have been in...
