Yes, I did take delivery about a month ago. We've been camping a couple times and our picnics and tailgating are next level now. Let me know what questions you have I'm happy to answer any.
Hey, Sorry for the late reply on this...Christmas is my busy time of year. I went with a pretty bare bones model. I only added yakima tracks only, PS window (same as the small DS window that comes standard), and Winter Pak.
Yes, I think I'll plan on leaving it on full-time and hoping it fits in my garage haha...looks like I've got around 2" to work with YIKES. We do a lot of skiing in the winter and I like the idea of being able to have it for lunch in the parking lot. I currently have a fiberglass shell on my...
Hi Guys, I've been following this thread and wanted to let you know I put my deposit down for a Project M. Delivery time will be April. I've got an 07 Chevrolet Silverado 8' bed and recently sold an old Palomino. I have a wife and 2 kids and was looking for something that was lighter, built...
Can you post some interior photos of the truck? I have a 2007 Chevy 2500 W/T Long bed/white. Love my truck...yours would be my dream rig with the Granby!
No plans for off roading this trip. I'm curious to see what you have up your sleeve for prepping your camper for more off road use and will be following your lead!
Thanks shellbackcva59. You are correct that it is the front of the cabover. I don't think the aluminium was welded but it is possible. The wood in this location is actually in good shape at least for now. I've already had to fix one other area. I'll look into Dicor thanks!
Cheers, Chris
Hi Guys,
Picked up this Palomino a year ago, had a lot of fun doing some family camping around Idaho last year and doing a few improvements/fixes this spring to make it more efficient for us. The front corners are pretty beat up, pulling apart and allowing a lot of water in, especially if...
Thanks for the info. Fridge has been on the fritz it seems and since it's just a weekend camping family affair the last thing I need is to be fiddling with the fridge like I was on our last trip and the first thing I need is cold beer! So a good cooler will suit me just fine. Our heater's...
Thanks guys, Yeah I probably will just re-wire it. I have an appt. to have the heater looked at and will ask the "pros". I'll let you know how it turns out. Cheers, Chris
I wish they listed the diameter on these things. I bought the "standard" 4 pin to wire this up but it didn't fit it's too small.
This little thing would be perfect but I bet it wouldn't fit, the 4 pin would be too small...
Hi Guys, Local auto parts store was at a loss and so am I. I picked up a 94 Palomino b-1000 last weekend. I've been saving $ and searching for over a year. This forum was a ton of help when looking for a truck pre-camper and I've been lurking on all the cool build threads over here. Overall...
Update for everyone who helped me out...I didn't buy the f-350 : ( I just couldn't bring myself to buy such an old vehicle when I was able to find much newer trucks with less mileage....plus I don't need a big diesel for my needs...and most importantly my wife didn't want a truck that old...
Thanks again everyone. I haven't bit the bullet yet, but may make the drive to look at this week. They did say over the phone they would come down $1000 on the price so that will help.
That's pretty cool Paul! Unfortunately the F350 I am looking at is at a dealership...and they are 5 hours away so it's making the negotiating a little difficult. If I can get a clean car fax from them and get them to come down a little more on their price I'll drive over.
