June 28th: Leave at 10pm. Night driving using my magnetic lightbar on the roof of my Accord.
June 29: Houston to Nashville. Drive through the night, starting at 10pm. 13 hours drive.

This trip was not fully completed as I was hoping to go through all States on the East Coast that I have never driven to or been to. Well, time did not permit so I completed what I had time for.

I am finally done with my big road trip and made it home today. Here is my summary in numbers.
Total miles driven: 5,667.2 miles
Cost of gas: $351.5
Total gallons: 134.774 gallons
Miles per gallon: 42.8mpg for the whole trip, according to car.
I calculated 42.0mpg.

Drove from Louisville, KY today to Springfield, MO. Had to stop at all the major attractions along route 66.

Today, I went to the Naval Base Station in Norfolk, VA. This is the world's biggest Naval Base.
Imagine to my surprise seeing a destroyer with the same number I have on my car; 66.

Yesterday, I went to George Washington's Mount Vernon. It was very interesting.
Where his remains lie.
Then from there, I drove to Richmond, VA to visit the famous Maymount Mansion and the Japanese garden.
If you are ever anywhere close to Lancaster, PA, you should make time and stop and visit Shady Maple Smorgasbord. Make sure to eat their buffet too,, while you are visiting it. It is really a good value for the money. Plus, you can eat healthy or you can indulge in a food coma.

I have always been interested in visiting Covered Bridges. So, I looked up some on my way to the Flight 93 Memorial, here in Pennsylvania. I visited a total of 4 and it was really cool, especially as the ones I visited are open to the public to drive on.
