My son wanted to go exploring again so we set out to a place locally known as the Swamp Ghost. Jeepers go here a lot but there have been many stories of many of them getting stuck in the mud mostly by pure stupidity and ignorance. They started putting "No trespassing" signs in the areas that...

The Story of Rocky (1999 2.5)

Good to see the Montero getting you to where you needed to go. Your oil leak is what is probably killing your alternator. Do you know where its leaking from? Most common areas are the valve cover gaskets and the cam seals in these motors especially if aftermarket low quality parts were used...

Oil change was due so perfect time to install these parts. Oil filler tube was leaking so I ordered a new OEM one....no more leaking. I also was missing the lower portion of my fan shroud that I kept forgetting to order till my radiator issue a month ago so I ordered it. Groot by grimgs, on...

A question about the cosmetic aspects of removing running boards on Gen 2.5

I bought some retainer clips from Oriellys. I cut to size 3m double sided tape for a more secure fit and act as a seal. The lowest hole I noticed is where the water drains so I didn't plug that hole. My daughter has taken a liking to helping me work on my cars...so she insisted on installing...

Found a spot out of the blue while on my way to do a errand and ended up finding a awesome quiet trail. I only got a chance to drive on it for a little but planning to explore it a bit more sometime soon. Groot by grimgs, on Flickr Groot by grimgs, on Flickr

    Montero Gen 2 Spark Plug Change - 3.5L V6

If you can..replace every single top end gasket and O-ring while you do the spark plug change as you don't want to remove all those pieces again to replace something like a crossover pipe o ring.

I have had them for a week now...I do notice a little more pep on initial acceleration with the fronts "free". Maybe its just a state of mind..either or its a great upgrade.

    Gen-3, Side Curtain Airbags?

There wasn't no curtain style airbags on the NA Market Gen 3's that would be located on the pillars and roof rockers. The front drivers seats had side airbags and the standard front air bags.

So for quite some time I have been shopping for manual hubs for my Gen 2.5 and only looking for Aisin hubs. I missed out on a couple deals ..but I was either lookin for FHM-002 or FHM-003. I found a seller on Amazon that was selling them but not the greatest deal at $150 each. Seller would sell...

I got 2 pairs of Asian market taillights from my uncles vacation to Hong Kong a couple months ago. He got me a pair of Leibao tails and a pair of Pajero crystal lens taillights. The Leibao tails have some fitment issues as they are "taller" compared to the OEM tails. I am going to have to figure...

Groot by grimgs, on Flickr Took my radiator to Prater Radiator here in Orlando, FL and took them 2 days to rod out my radiator. They said it was clogged a good bit but other than that the radiator is in pretty good condition. The shop owner highly recommended me to flush out to remaining coolant...
