@BajaSurfRig I still need the truck and the flatbed but this is a good deal and I am in Denver right now.
@goexploreit I'll give you a call later today/this week.
You're not the first person to mention this. They're not off my list, the Rams seem easier to come by though and honestly I just like the look of them more. If a deal popped up though I'd likely jump on it.
@sn_85 you're not the first person to recommend the Super Duty's. I'm honestly not a huge fan of a lot of newer vehicles I see, all the added features feel overly complicated and the new Fords are no exception. I loved the simplicity of my '03 Tacoma and didn't realize how much I'd miss it...
Initially I'd run something like an old FWC Grandby and haul my motorcycle, but eventually I'd like to convert to a flatbed and build something custom. That'd be a multi-year kinda project but there's plenty of inspiration here. The fully loaded weight of the FWC with moto alone gets close to...
Can anyone chime in on how exactly the 3500 gains the extra payload over the 2500? Is the frame stiffer and boxed vs channel, stouter leaf packs, stronger axels.. I know the dually upgrade helps a lot with the weight but a lot of the 3500s are SRW and I'd likely stick with that. For what it's...
Following, I'm in the process of deciding between a 2500 and 3500 for my new rig and have the same issue. I'm getting a lot of mixed opinions on what the 2500 is truly capable of.
I've been a Tacoma guy my whole life but am looking to finally increase my payload and live a little more comfortably off-grid. I'd like something that can haul all the water/fuel/toys I can carry and the Ram 3500s fit this bill pretty well. The older trucks entice me because of their...
I feel your pain! Haha I end up with too many half finished projects taking up space to take on another one. The van is a steal, I won't deny that, I just think the mechanical aspects of it might steer people away. But that's coming from a carpenter who's way more comfortable building out an...
Agreed, I've been looking around for something like this but don't want to have to hassle with getting it home, and for that matter having it potentially sit non-operational in my driveway for however long it takes me to get things sorted out. Plus that rust on the underside doesn't look great.
