    bumpers

Actually Tom I agree with you. A pillowtop on that bar would be good. :) And those pedestrians! Where I come from a pedestrian was someone who had no friends and had lost their license for DUI. But seriously I have had to help cleanup the carnage that poorly designed bullbars helped cause...

    bumpers

So which would you prefer to be hit with. A steel edge 1/4" wide or a flat edge 1" wide. That could be your kid/dog that runs out on the road. For the sake of $10 worth of steel and a couple pounds of weight it can be made a lot safer and stronger.

    bumpers

Can you please run some flat strap along your verticals. That is just dangerous and will cut anything you hit in 1/2. If you are looking to see how to do a proper job check out the ARB ones. They are designed to rigorous safety standards.

Buying & Building a Medium Ambulance into an RV – The FAM-BULANCE

Now if you want an expensive solution. We bought another house because the HOA didn't like my choice of vehicles.

Flatbed and composite panel build on Dodge 2500

Sorry I didn't read through here earlier. Great job on the pan. For others with less skills and tooling there is a mob who do custom pans. Checkout this thread. http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/129727-Shower-Pan-for-CW-200-casstette-toilet

Buying & Building a Medium Ambulance into an RV – The FAM-BULANCE

Not only the sink and TV stuff but the engine. I have never seen or heard of an 8.3 Duramax. Being a Freightliner that is probably a Cummins. Great configuration.

Ambulance Camper/ Expedition Rig Conversion FAQ

I singled my E350 out using new Dana hubs on the front (thanks Chris) and 19.5 tires/wheels. Do a search on my username and it should come up under something like "new shoes for a fat pig" or something like that.

    Mr. Emergency Traction Track

Forget about recovery. After the last couple of Expo's a set of these would make a great floor mat to keep all the mud out of the camper and you could also use them for a shower floor. But if Maxtrax would warranty their product for the weight of my truck they would be the first addition I...

Ambulance Camper/ Expedition Rig Conversion FAQ

For the bed question. I have had success with getting custom length beds from discountvanandtruck (just google that). They are a good sofa and also a fairly good bed. Easy setup and I have not noticed rattles. The good part is that they fit over the wheel arch and also over the compartments on...

    Ford Van Seat Upgrad Question

Stay away from the "captains chairs" available for conversion vans etc. i found them lacking in support. Also if you are fitting up a different seat make sure you take the angle of the swab (the part you park your ******** on) as a lot of the other seats available seem to come up higher in the...

    gas vs diesel

Since you can maintain it yourself I would suggest the main real benefit of the diesel is the torque available low in the rev range. It makes driving these overloaded beasts we call expedition rigs easier over crappy road and through sand. The offset is the higher maintenance repair cost...

    6x6 > 4x4?

12 mpg full or empty at 35 or 70. Didn't change much and was not noticeable. But it if the F series gas engine. I am hoping for the 18 to 20 with the 1HZ and a turbo. (A bit less than the troopy gets)

    6x6 > 4x4?

Since I have a 6 wheel land cruiser I can probably add a few comments/thoughts. There are a few benefits to having the extra flotation and carrying capacity. My rig has gone from 1 tonne to 2.5 tonne safely and legally (and with good brakes). But mine is only 6 x 4. The rear rear axle is a tag...

Stewart and Stevenson 1997 M-1078. 4x4 diesel Clear AZ title. Phoenix Price Cut

Want to make a reasonably priced camper to go on the back. There is a 13' x 8' x 5' box for sale here in Phoenix. Ideal to throw on this truck and kit it out to suit. And I have a spare poptop off a Chinook laying around the yard to get the headroom. I think you could easily get this built and...

    Head room in ambulance conversions?

I am 5' 8" and I had to kink my head in both of my ford based ambos. Given that we will hopefully be living in the vehicle for months at a time it was an issue for me. This even led me to buy a poptop off a Chinook camper to look at installing that (bloody think is still taking up space in my...

    Freightliner ambulance conversion project.

Does this make my bum look big. Or is it "Erector Set Booty" A minor bit of bumper work, many swear words and the prototype is in place. Still needs some minor mods but hopefully it will be in place for our next trip Yes I will level it up before final fitting.

    Dodge Ram 5500 motorhome

I will second Jack on this one. Setting it up to clear 43" will both open up the tire selection (365/80R20 XZL for example or 11R20) if you find that either the tire availability is limited or you need more footprint/aggressive tread. Having reworked my wheel arches twice already I know the...

Dometic Tec 30 Diesel Generator For sale

I think they need to go back to school. This 1st paragraph is sort of right in some cases. Series motors will run at twice the speed. Other types will actually run 20% slower. Some electronics will also have timing troubles with the frequency switch. For example I believe most of the US supplied...
