The not so good bits.
Oil leak from hydraulics for the cab/spare system. Parker control valve, probably an oring but I am not going to pull it apart to find out.
Scratch on the windshield from the wiper blade.
Some weeping from somewhere on the engine. Does not drip but something is...

Awnings
You could mount one lower down and towards the rear leaving the door uncovered. That would give you probably about 6x6 to cook under etc.
Check out the one on Tony's thread AmboVan-Restarted
Or put a couple of supports out from above the door to keep the awning from getting caught...
Also if you happen to be a bit adventurous there is probably only $30 worth of parts required to rebuild your alt. and it's not rocket science to strip them down and rebuild. Only areas of caution are be very careful how you take the belt off. When you spin the belt tensioner you can get the...
Not being able to see what ambo you have I will throw something out there in case it is a E series Ford. Check with the ford guys and see if your rig is able to have the dual alternators installed. If so go with the biggest standard ford one you can buy for the current location and then retro...
JEGS for a braided line for the flexible and then get the other bits made to suit. NAPA probably would even stock 3 generic parts that would make that up.
Another alternative is a mobile hose doctor. Make all types of hydraulic hoses on the spot. Or measure it up. Get good details on the ends...
Now that I have succumbed to the laws of physics and accepted that the Sienna seats will not work in the freightliner I have a new set for sale (bugger because now the missus is eyeing off $800+ ea truck seats). New gray with wallyworld seat cover from the day they were picked up. Few little...
Do a search on this site for "real world mileage" for a comparison. But I get around 10 average. I have 43" tires and have not regeared or taken the truck to Freightliner to have the software updated to suit. Driving from Miami to Phoenix I got 10 - 12 screaming all the way with undersized...
These guys have the best Bostrom prices I have been able to find so far but if you take a copy to the local FL guys they will probably match it. Just an FYI on the difference between the 900 and 915 series seats. The only major difference is the 915 has dual dampers the rest of the seat is the...
Ok I am glad you are leading the charge here. I was about to order a set of NOS seats from an International MXT. Now it looks like I will stick with the originals. But did you checkout the Bostrom FRED option. They have a refurbish kit you can get for around $200 ea. And you know the seat is...
I will be following this thread with interest as this is how we intend to do our travel as well.
From our investigations one of the difficulties will be storing the truck and leaving the country. Depending on the TVI (Temporary Vehicle Import) duration for each country you may need to put the...
Thanks for the tip on the cup holders. Saved me a few bucks. Also finding out one set of interior light is switched by the back door saved me some investigation time. Keep up the good work :)
