Looking for input - removable LiFePO4 solution with alternator/solar charging

I'm no expert either as I've only built 1 camper van and had a 37' boat with a fairly complicated electrical system. I'd suggested qualifying your electrical needs more precisely. "Fairly modest" is helpful but numbers are better. Estimate how much power each device will use and for how long...

    Help with Dual Battery setup.

    1. Heavier wire is more efficient at conducting electricity. As Shade pointed out, the Blue Seas Circuit Wizard will answer many of your questions. There is even a phone app which is super handy. As for the 40 amp fuse, I'd ask Redarc why they have such a specific recommendation on the fuse...

    Suggestions for onboard water system?

I'm a weeder spray shower fan too. Mix a quart of hot water with another quart of water and you're set. Simple, effective, low maintenance and cheap. But its low on the WOW factor if you're into impressing people with fancy new gadgets.

Battery banks and RV windows, worth it?

Good windows are important to me, but how good is good enough? The Arctic Tern windows sure look good.... but they aren't cheap either! For cold wx, the double pane is essential. You might consider having just one window that can be opened. Fixed windows are usually cheaper and almost always...

    Build Primer?

Like you, I'm in the initial planning stages of a pickup camper. It will be a foam and fiberglass design. Although I'll be using a Toyota Tacoma, so similar weight constraints. I too have considered removing the factory bed off the back of the truck and replacing it with a flat bed. The open...

Webasto (or other brand) GAS Furnace/Heaters??

Tapping into the tank is a good option if the camper is permanently fixed on the vehicle. Or at least not removed very often. Webastos and Espars both come with their own little pump to pull fuel from a tank. I can't recall exact numbers, but you should be able to lift the fuel up to something...

Webasto (or other brand) GAS Furnace/Heaters??

I've installed and used a diesel Espar heater in a boat and well as a gasoline Webasto in a van. The design, installation and operation of the two brands is essentially the same. Pay very close attention to the mounting instructions before you buy one. There are specific tolerances for...

Beautiful work! Did you use a router to cut out the drawer and door fronts from the face plate? What brand of latch are you planning to use?
