I am way over my head here . But when you purchase a new ARB fridge and wiring kit they strongly tell you to wire directly to the battery ,and not to go through any other electrical device . There kit has a inline fuse in the harness .
I installed two of them last year . Both times I drilled a hole centered in the bottom .pulled the wires through then crimped on the terminals . you can then pull the wires back and slide them straight on the male side . you can back off the nut and pull the socket ahead for more room to work ...
Hi I am building out the same top as yours . put in 1.5 in /R7.5 of insulation and full plywood inside ,I added 2 feet down the center of the roof so I can stand up inside . I will post some pictures if I ever learn how !!
Another box supplier you could look at is Bear ? . I used a couple of the steel boxes last year on a project and they seem very well made ,and at a good price point . They have aluminum too ,lots and lots of different sizes and shapes .Amazon shows some but if you want to see all their...
Nice to see you back. So have you been able to drive the truck around with no deck ? I have some real world numbers on gas mileage. After around 8000 Kilometers we are getting about 15 miles to the gallon . I am happy with that . Good news is I have only caught myself saying F--ing truck...
I have been driving past Windmill twice a week for the last 5 weeks . They have them lined up across the front of there lot .Pretty much every model new and used . They also have brand new take off truck boxes ,probable 50 of them .
would that have been a second generation then? I am not sure if the V8 came in the first generation like we had . I am thinking are scout must have been early to mid sixties
Ha ha yes as I recall we used to refer to the bigger international dump trucks as corn binders , or was it hay binders ? Something like that. I don't think the scout was sold at ag dealers though , it was the truck division . There was only one dealer in all of buffalo I think . It was the...
Nice to hear from a fellow owner . I am in Canada and parts a bit slow to get and a bit pricey as well . but yes they are very basic vehicles ,before they added all the electronics to the diesel motors . I have done a ton of work to mine ,but I do not know how to post pictures . Lifted 4 inches...
Well now I am thinking about the Scout ,I think I may have had a bit of a rarity . It was a single cab pickup . If I remember correctly it did not have a separate box ,but part of the body .It had a small removable bolt on top and a steel panel that separated the box from the cab . The box was...
I would like to share my personal experience with the scout . 50 years ago my dad owned a snow plow business in Buffalo NY. the truck I plowed with was a Scout . Things I remember ,4 cyl motor was literally a cut in half V8 . 3 speed floor shift trans . Always carry a gallon of body filler and...
Thank you and others for response .I was only trying to determine If Hiatus had started building a 8 foot camper . I sorta feel like 8 foot guys are being left in the dust ,as most of the new stuff coming out is for mid size trucks or for full size short box . Small market I guess .
If you get a chance could you tell me the height of your camper when its on the truck ? I put a two foot roof extension on mine ,and figure I will be sitting just under 10 feet now . Could not tolerate not being able to stand up straight . Mine was only 54 inches inside when I started .
What a great build you are doing . Can you tell me a bit more about the Tuesday F 350 regular cab ? Was it ordered as a cab and frame or pickup ? And is the camper box directly mounted to the frame with no flat deck needed ? Thanks
You can purchase just the bumper without the over hood piece . You would save about $1300 I think .Imagine if you had any type of under hood fire ,you would be screwed .On second thought maybe I don't like it so much .
Maybe its just a tire with no wheel . Another guy with a 550 and wheel and tires like this said they weigh 300 lbs a piece, not sure . He had a pulley set up just to get them on and off the back of the box .
Thanks ,but I am picking myself up off the ground .$ 4,980. I am in Canada it would be $7,500 by the time I get it home . Guess I won't be getting one of them . Sure looks nice though .
