I swapped out a grab handle bolt with a RAM mount ball. The ball needs to be pushed out to clear the handle . I just used some washers to space out the ball. .
Now I can locate my InReach on the P/S up high against the windshield and out of the way.

I've seen sand tracks mounted on "L" tracks on the side of vehicles. How are the "L" tracks mounted to the vehicle? Nutserts? Then use a "L" track threaded stud to mount the tracks?
The studs are only an inch long so a coupler would be needed to be long enough to go through the tracks...

What are you using as a trailer theft security ? Since I normally use a pintle I would pull the ring out and run a locking pin through the receiver. I have read that that might not be a good deterrent.
In addition, I am looking at this for some extra peace of mind leaving the trailer in camp.
I have a Yaesu FT7900 radio with remote control head. The cable that connects the control unit to the main body of the radio has RJ-11 jacks like a phone line. Is this a special cable or can I use phone line for my new installation?
