    Carrying a Second Spare

Since running two spares, I rotate them on each oil change. Even wear and long life. It also gives me a chance to fully inspect each tire, wheel and brakes every oil change.

I have a comprehensive vehicle inspection sheet if that helps. Plug each item into excel and have at it if you like.

    Carrying a Second Spare

Pull up a chair for my long winded answer... Rovers tend to have provision for two to three spare tires securely mounted (hood, back door, inside the bed (against front bulkhead). Later Defenders added the silly bulge on the hood, so you can't mount a spare there now. 2003-up I think. And the...

    1992 Defender 110 200 TDi

Worst part of Rover Ownership is fixing all the things "fixed" by the "financially challenged" in the past... Fortunately mine was a UK Power Company truck so it wasn't messed up too badly, until the previous owner converted it to left hand drive with REALLY worn out parts... Now that (the...

    Gear that works

I have one milk crate type carrier that is longer and wider as well as lower. It’s red- maybe from coca/cola? But I’ve used it many times for my canned goods. When I had my apartment in Long Island I’d use it all the time, so I always knew what I had and it was all fresh when I left.

    Plates, bowls, ect

Coffee grounds- these are great for the plants. My grandmother always used them in the garden. I always toss them into the taller grass/weeds or trees. Starbucks gives away their grounds for people to use in their garden too.

    2020 Defender Spy Shots....

This is what was said when they pulled out with the first Defender. It sure seems a lot easier to adapt for air bags (as they did with the disco) than to kill the golden goose. Other countries and military contracts don’t care about airbags either. A parallel path makes a lot more sense. Tata...

    2020 Defender Spy Shots....

Does anyone know WHY they stopped production before having a replacement? I still can’t wrap my head around why Land Rover would discontinue the analogue to Ford’s F150... IT’S WHAT PAYS THE BILLS for crying out loud. To quote Napoleon Dynamite: “IDIOT!”

    calibration issue between instruments mppt-fluke

I have a Fluke 10 as well, and it is the bottom of the line. Nice enough meter, but when I sent mine in for repair, the only option was replacement. I do not believe it is available with a cal cert as it is not able to be calibrated. I don’t need that high accuracy currently but now that my...

That’s what I have, but not reproduction... Either they copied the name too, or photo is of an original? But it’s nice to use proper tools when eating.

Truck prep for the Dempster Highway

Re the mud flaps- just be sure they are durable and offer good coverage for the tires you run. Often stock ones are stiff plastic and too small.

    ARB 12-volt fridge modification

I have an Engle and the coils run all around the inside. They made them for ARB (or did anyway)... Would this trick work for mine too? Do your coils run all around the inside walls?
