Morticon's '00 XJ Limited "SuperStock" Build

Flying or driving to Pa? Curious why you reattached your rear swaybar. IMHO, they seem useless on leaf sprung axles. As far as stock replacement parts too, try rockauto.com

    LETS SEE YOUR TRAILERS!!!!

$100 in material and a little bit of my time is well worth the $1k+ replacement value of my RTT and the time loss w/out it.

    LETS SEE YOUR TRAILERS!!!!

That's a great idea! A simple hoop that follows the contour of the RTT; one in front of the tent, and one behind it would suffice. Add a little gusseting where it mounts to the top rails of the trailer and your done! You just made my Sunday booked, haha

    LETS SEE YOUR TRAILERS!!!!

Got mine from Tepui. It's a Kukenam. They're in Santa Cruz California.

    Ideas on this trailer?

Guessing a Ford differential cuz of the center drop out? Really diggin' the "shackles" too... :costumed-smiley-007 What's the track width compared to your XJ?

    Grand Wagoneer ?

I had a '78 2 door with a 360 and 35's. Loved it except for the PO mickey mouse a lot of the engine wiring harness. Sold it. Miss it. Want another one... $10K seems like a lot but that must means it's rust free and in immaculate condition!

    LETS SEE YOUR TRAILERS!!!!

Couldn't you just flip the axle over? It'd be super cool to run nostalgic truck parts ;)

    Stomper the Jeep, tornado survivor

Thanks for the story, a true hero in my eyes. It's amazing to see the heroism come out during natural and/or man made events.

    Cooling upgrades

That is correct. I know how cowl induction works and with the boxy design of the XJ, I do not see how this could have an adverse effect.

    Cooling upgrades

An easy seasonal fix for higher temps is a hood raise. Simple 1" square stock, and 1" longer hood bolts. As hard as it can rain, very little water enters into the engine compartment from the cowl area due to the design of the cowl & hood. These 1 inch "shims" go between the hood and the hinge...

96 XJ - Sky Slider roof plus build

Do you s'pose the lack of a metal roof structure will cause the XJ to flex under certain cases? Perhaps the new sliders will help with that potential problem. Just thinking "out loud" :o

    Gearing question

My 00 XJ (4.o/AW4) has 4.56's w/33x10.5 KM2's. Perfect combo for DD'ing, or hauling my expo trailer w/RTT & a weeks worth of gear, riding mower on 5x10 utility trailer, or fully laden pop-up with Jill and the dog. The gears are Motives and work just dandy :safari-rig:

35s vs 33x10.5 for an xj. Help me make a decision on my build

I run 33x10.5's KM2's spun by 4.56's on my 4.0L powered 00 XJ (Aussied 8.25/modified HPD30). I haul an expo trailer w/a RTT and also go rockcrawling, as it flexes quite well with the longarms. I've had absolutely no issues on the rocks, getting groceries, or off in the boonies for 7-10 days with...

    LETS SEE YOUR TRAILERS!!!!

Jeff, my good buddy Chris has a Dinoot prototype in that size that you're selling. Funny thing too is you're located where my fiancée went to college, small world! Here's my custom built trailer and Tepui Kukenam RTT:

Not your usual Cherokee (XJ) expo build

I enjoy my Billies 5100 on my 00 XJ. Some days the rear is empty, other times it's packed and with my expo trailer w/RTT in tow with very little noticable difference in ride quality. My stock rims are painted flat black but I'm digging the white rims as my xj is also white. Nice build so far...

    Cherokee Upgrades

Yessah, I found out yesterday that he wouldn't ship em anyways. I'm a fab guy myself so I hear ya there on building your own stuff. I have a winch bumper from a Defender Series and made it to fit my 00 XJ along with the front inner & outer frame supports. I also have a C8.25, 4.56 geared held...
