Fixed my apparently non-working brake lights and turn signals, just needed a new fuse and flasher relay, got to love simple fixes, things are usually more complicated than that.

I have a Mercedes OM617 diesel in my jeep, it is all mechanical and only needs the battery for the starter, it can be pop started in the case of a bad battery. It will also run on waste veggie oil, perfect for SHTF

Very cool adventure that you guys have been on! Simply amazing! Do you have any pictures of what the inside of the rear passenger area in the Patrol looks like? I see from some of your maintenence pictures that you have some sort of custom wooden structure built?
