We have the Grandby - front dinette and opted for the extra storage. We had FWC leave the doors off the lower cabinet, cut 14" off the center of the cabinet face-plate at the floor and slide the Curve Porta-Potti into that space and have a curtain rod and curtain to cover the space.

You will want an 8' bed for a Grandby. We have an F-250, 8' bed, 2014 Grandby with a front dinette. When you have the upper bed extension pulled out, it covers about half the seating of the front dinette with the overhang. The Hawk front dinette is approximately 6" narrower than the Grandby...

I've never owned diesel so I can't comment. We have a 2013 F-250 long bed with 2014 FWC Grandby. It has been a great combo. The FWC Hawk would be a good choice and if you needed more room the long bed Grandby. You might want to consider the 3/4 ton truck for either choice. ATC (All Terain)...

Look into Four Wheel Camper (they have a dealer in Texas). On Wander the West there is a post for used FWC, but they go very fast because of their quality and reputation. We bought a new FWC Grandby in 2014 and it is everything we were expecting. ATC is another high quality camper. Lognhorn
