The 6.4L is a good motor, definitely an upgrade over the 5.7. The 6.4L doesn't make much more power but it does make it lower than the Hemi. The downside to the 5.7L when towing is that you need to be in the upper RPM range.
The 6.4L didn't come out till the 4th Gen trucks, not sure of the exact year. I have heard the 6.4L is a nice since it doesn't make it's power so high in the RPM band like the 5.7 Hemi does.
The 3rd Gen Mega Cabs are definitely interesting the way Dodge initially released them. I love the...
They made the "1500" Mega Cab for only 2 years(06-08), once they went to the 4th Gen Rams they were all 2500's. From what I gathered the only difference was the rear suspension was softer and the 1500 got the 5.7 Hemi and the 2500's the Cummins. Everything else on the truck is a 2500.
Thanks man! Gonna slow down a bit in the winter since I don't have a garage. Kind of hard to work on her in the cold/snow with no garage.
Honestly couldn't really complain too much. The 4Runner stuck out a lot over the roof line and wasn't exactly aerodynamic. I wish she was a Cummins but we...
When my old 4Runner broke down on a Overland trip, it got about 8-9 towing it back through the mountains.

The Bilsteins are a huge improvement, but I did have blown shocks on it before. It is much more stable on rough roads. Before the back end would always want to "walk out"
My last 10 fill ups I have been averaging 12.5 The best I've gotten on the new tires is 13.9 highway. I am running stock...
This is my plan since there aren't a lot of options for rear bumpers for my truck. Its a hitch-mounted spare tire carrier, seems to be decently priced.

I wired up some amber grill lights. These will act as DRL's and as strobes(for night snow rescues)

Got the Extreme LED 22" X6 in today. Test fitted it and it looks like I will have to enlarge a couple holes on the bumper bracket. Waiting on...
In preparation for the Extreme LED Light Bar, I got the AUX Fuse Book and the Relays wired up. All I need to do now is wire the switches and light bar when I get them.
Circuit Breaker, AUX Fuse Book and the Negatives hooked up

Front Tow Hooks and Patton Fab light mount has been installed. When we first got the truck my wife spun the truck out and hit a mountain. She ended up bending part of the front bumper in. So I will have to...
The 5160's are installed. The rear Rancho's were completely shot, the fronts to my surprise had some life left.

Here is pictures from my trip to Mt. Princeton in Buena Vista, CO. The trail ends at just over 12k feet, at that point you can hike the other 2k feet to summit the 14'er. Most of the trail is pretty easy, only the last mile or so it tuff. The trail turns into switchbacks and narrow shelfs road...
Some of you may or may not know but during the 3rd Gen Ram cycle they introduced the Ram MegaCab. For some reason they sold it in a "1500" marking, even though it is running on 2500 running gear. So I have a 2006 Dodge Ram MegaCab 4WD 5.7L Hemi, that is basically stock at the moment. I will be...
