    Local Repeaters

Finally got software to program my radio. While setting up the file from the ARRL repeater guide for SLC, Utah & northern Nevada, I remember how many are listed for Denver and of those the relatively smaller number that I would consider heavily monitored at any time. Say there's 40 combined 2m...

    Kenworth Oil Exploration Truck

Check this sucker out. Wonder if it's crew quarters or just an mobile office. Either way, seems like a cool body that would be neat to fit on an International 7400 6x6 chassis.

    Yakima Hullraiser

Selling a pair of Yakima Hullraiser kayak mounts. The plastic clamps will do round or square tubes, also has the original box and straps. New these things are about $90 I think, I'm asking $40. Would ship, buyer covers actual cost. Box dimensions are 25"x12"x7" and estimated shipping weight...

Richfield Field Office DEIS/DRMP Comments ending 1/23/2008

It's just unrelenting, this Non-Wilderness with Wilderness Characteristics stuff. But stay after it and keep firing off letters and emails! Lots of maps and route inventory here and so it's pretty overwhelming. If nothing else, be sure to tell them that Wilderness can only be called...

Price Field Office Comment Period (ends 12/13/07)

Right now the Moab F.O. is getting all the attention (which is fine, today is the period end, get out those emails!). But the BLM Price Field Office comment period for the San Rafael area is ending on 12/13/2007. Need to write another letter, people. This is more so a concern if you are moto...

    Moab Draft RMP/EIS Comments

Haven't seen anything lately on here about this (original thread is Thread Link), but the comment period to the Moab Field Office for the Resource Management Plan is closing in a couple of weeks (11/30/07). This is a HUGE deal, particularly for OHV users since the Southern Utah Wilderness...

    Live TdF data

Was surfing around and found this. It's live rider data from the Tour. Today (7/11/07) they have Carlstrom and Delage. Not only is it actual live HR, speed and altitude, but you can link to the Google Map and see where they are (this doesn't seem to be updated quite as often as the rider...

    Feuerwehr KLF

Saw this in the neighborhood the other day. Funny that I hadn't noticed it before, it's not like you see many bright orange German public service vehicles around. Anyway, didn't get a chance to see inside, but from the outside it looks like an unchanged Kleinlöschfahrzeug from some...

    Phoenix Toyota Dealers

I need to find a dealer in the Phoenix area that people trust. This would be for basic service, just an oil change. Quality of service trumps location, although east or north would be best (near Scottsdale, Mesa, etc).

    HID headlights

Scott wrote this in his arctic trip report: This has been mentioned that before (about the HID). I'd like to explore that some more. I'm not disagreeing, largely because I don't have HID automotive experience to even remotely draw on. I do have HID lights for the bike and a ton of experience...

    It Starts (22R-E Rebuild)

My engine bay is stripped naked in preparation for the rebuild. I left the power steering and A/C (moved to the sides, out of the way, but still there), but most everything else connected to the engine is now in boxes. Not sure exactly /what/ the rebuild will be, most likely an aftermarket...

    Cool Tripod

    Daimler to sell Chrysler?

http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070215/BUSINESS01/702150327 Anyone read about this? It sounds like Chrysler is in a tough spot, Daimler may spin it off, GM may partner or buy it. Anyway, it's future is in flux. So I wonder how this affects the future of Jeeps with diesels...

    Trail Closures in western CO

Sounds like people are tearing things up, forcing the BLM to take action. Please, stay on signed routes and generally be good stewards for the land. It just take one (or a handful of) yahoos to ruin for the rest of us. -------------------------------------- News Release Bureau of Land...
