I am using these for my cross rails. Jason @ Trail Tailor uses these in all of his rack builds.
Ya even with that cool camper that thing needs some help and on an island surrounded by salt water.....rust is your friend.
I bought a 86 Bronco out of the keys once...never again.
They are asking way to much.
So you put that monster on a Kia? How does it handle? I am still looking at this as my Extreme is going to be to small for 3.
Does it had over alot when closed? how is the wind on the highway?
Agreed, bed type mount should be secured. Then again, you could just cut the cross rails. 2 guys 2 battery operated sawzalls Ior like) 5-10 min cut and go. Or the cut the mounts to the vehicle roof. Either way getting it off is the easy part.
Thieves are not exactly careful when they steal...
For years backpacking I either used a shirt stuffed with softer cloths, or a jacket put in my tent stuff sack or sleeping bag stuff sack. Never had any issues other than wrinkled cloths.
Now that I am older, wiser and have a RTT, I use a real pillow.
That is great! I seriously look at these for you reasoning being the same. Both my Autohomes I got cheap and used Still replaced the mattress in both.
I do not know if I would have spent 3-4K on a tent that is used less than 60 days a year. I know my wife would say NO WAY.
When the kids decide...
For the price of the ikamper, I would go with a Maggiolina Grand Tour. I had the Adventure (no longer sold) model in the Large and I can say it is about the size of a large queen bed. Solid (I hit a tree with mine and the tree was hurt) built and just a great RTT, plus I kept my comforter and...
I am not sure why you would want to do this. From my understanding and I am very rusty on my understanding. The battery has 2 main functions.
1. to start the car
2. as a buffer for when the electrical system (alt) cannot provide enough power to the system and then the battery is used as...
A little late, but follow this advice. I am doing exactly that to mine now. Wet sanding with 500 grit sand paper. I have to repair some spider cracks and will use a marine putty to do so (white).
I was thinking of repainting it with a marine based paint, but decided to so what Lemsteraak...
Stove, I use a converted beer/ soda can that is set to burn alcohol. (like the yellow heat stuff or the drug store stuff). (I mainly solo)
No pic sorry but you can see them anywhere. I have made coffee, Boiled water and made pasta, Fried eggs and bacon. I made mine a little taller so it holds...
And picked up. Thanks Pat for helping me load it up, it was good to meet you, the tent will be put to years of good use.
Made it home without incident. Great tent and it was even better in person.
The the OP post. I just moved to a RTT (getting it this weekend), this is going on my '86 FJ60 when the rust is repaired (what I can see) and the rig painted.
I ended up with a hardshell Maggiolina crank style (preferred for me over the Airtop style as those gas struts do fail over time). Why...
Well after camping in my FJ60 over the summer (inside) or my F150 I found a great deal on a Maggiolina Extreme med RTT that I am picking up this weekend.
I had been looking at ground tents and ideally if I went RTT (which I had ruled out until I struck this deal) I wanted another Maggiolina as...
Has anyone used the Maggiolina changing room? I am picking up my Extreme med from a member here this weekend and I am also looking into getting the changing room.
It is $$$ so before I spring for it, does anyone have one and what do you like or not like. I will get a winter hood and...
