Congrats on the basecamp purchase. I got mine from Dean back in March (or was it February?). Anyway, the family loves it and we have had no regrets and no problems. I have made the "standard" changes that other Expo members have pointed out are worth looking at and inspecting (#8 bolts...
Dang.
Here in the Republic of Tejas the state DMV actually "told" me the trailer was manufacturered in SA when I provided the VIN for acquiring tags. I was expecting some difficulty due to Progressive and Geico (my cycle and truck insurance providers) initially had some challenge recognizing...
A lot of rearranging of gear mostly. checked bearing, checked lugs, checked screws, etc. Also, I didn't like how the screw tops to the water tanks could be put down somewhere (can you say misplaced) when filling the tanks so I tapped the top of the 2 tops with stainless screws and linked the...
Correct. $375 for the FP430 (not an open box sale) & $495 for the FP630. From a totally frivolous perspective it was ~$8.75 @ quart for the smaller unit and ~$7.80 a quart for the larger model. Silly but I figured I wasn't going to be buying this repeatedly.
Interesting. . .
Wasn't interested in replacing just yet. Was also messing around with the camper today (interesting enough, also had mine connected to the battery tender). It was more a matter of curiosity as the physical size is not what I am familiar with and I didn't know Panasonic made...
I am interested in hearing from any owners of the Conqueror Base camp, Compact, or Conquest campers and about the variety of battery types which may have shipped with them.
Mine shipped with a Panasonic model EC-EV1260U (distributed by GM) (think there's a link to Saturn here?) Haven't found...
:wings: ha! I used to get out of bed a lot faster too!
From my perspective, the benefits (which are many) primarily allow for me to not share camp with a 40' battleship of an RV . . .
They are not the same.
The photo on pg 1 depicts the FP430 - EdgeStar Portable Fridge / Freezer - 43 Qt.
I have the FP630 - EdgeStar Portable Fridge / Freezer - 63 Qt.
Didn't realize the clasp distinction until this evening. (same type, just one more)
Seth,
I just noticed on the first page of this thread that the unit depicted has but 1 latch on the lid. The unit I have has 2. Don't know if this is anything significant / the reason behind ... regarding the wiggling you're discussing but I suspect that may be the different perspectives we...
Yes, based upon my doctorate degree :ylsmoke: issued by Wikipedia, I understand that thermoelectric cooling uses the Peltier effect to create a heat flux between the junction of two different types of materials. My reading said that this effect is commonly used in camping and portable coolers...
Took delivery of a 63 quart model yesterday. Very happy with size, construction, cooling, etc... Although a compressor-type cooling appliance, (not latest technology), I expect to get many years of use and the price was right.
Last Saturday (between cooking breakfast for the family and taking the mrs out to dinner, I spent part of the afternoon lurking on a thread regarding Edgestar freezers. Seems there was a deal to be had for 42 quart open box units with compact appliance and an additional special discount for...
