Mule Expedition Outfitters accessory brackets do not fit Four Wheel Camper

Are the differences in the brackets, or on the camper? Like, maybe the jack attachment locations you're using on the camper itself are a little different between the sides. Can you take them off and set them side by side, or measure? If they're crooked, you have to expect the holes on the...

What will an overweight Taco and a slip off a rock get you?

This! Slipped off a ledge. Heard a clunk. Didn't think much of it. Drove up over the rock ledge I slipped on. Continued driving down the trail and heard a couple other clicks.. Nothing too loud or anything. Got to the trail head and put it in 2wd. The drive shaft spun, but the wheels...

Will my Tacoma survive 1000 miles with a FWC on stock suspension?

Yes, that's definitely true. But being 3k lbs heavier than stock doesn't help either. I'd imagine an empty truck bed would have bounced back up, before stripping all the gears, but I don't know. It sucked.. I've been on much trickier roads and bigger obstacles, and had no problems. But...

Will my Tacoma survive 1000 miles with a FWC on stock suspension?

Yes. But the stock differential will not survive bouncing on a rough road, with the weight of the camper. Mine blew up this weekend, going up a relatively mild ledge. My rear wheels didn't quite grip onto it, and the truck bucked a couple times.. Make a loud click sound. Seemed ok after...

    Brake Pads for Overweight Tacoma

It's a flatbed model.. Maybe they're heavier.. (well, I already mentioned the dry weight sticker is 1600lbs, so that's over your grandby. This is just a flatbed fleet model). I don't know what my aluminum flatbed weighs.. People tell me it should be the same or less than the steel truck bed it...

    Brake Pads for Overweight Tacoma

I'll take any advice :). So.. Stock Tacomas actually weigh more than they say they do. Posts on Tacomaworld show brand new off the line Taco's weiging almost 5k lbs. The FWC has a weight sticker on the side that says 1600lbs. But.. that must be empty.. As in, not even including...

Bands, frequency ranges best for receive only emergency info?

I passed practice HAM tests w/out studying.. Just found some practice tests, took them. Passed. I have a background in geeky things like building drones and amplifiers, and other various electronics projects.. And that was enough. Even if you don't, there are plenty of online resources w/...

Bands, frequency ranges best for receive only emergency info?

You could buy a super inexpensive ($30ish) baofeng radio, which will receive 3 bands of HAM and GMRS and weather and FM. It will broadcast, too. If you're not comfortable breaking the law to save your life, either take the easy HAM test (don't need to know morse code or anything difficult...

    Brake Pads for Overweight Tacoma

Tires are 235/85r16.. skinny. Light-ish, for offroad tires, but definitely way heavier than stock. (Don't remember the exact weight.. But they're just AT's.. Nothing crazy). And about 'dangerously overweight', every tacoma w/ a FWC is in the same place.... All I've got is the FWC, ARB bull...

    Brake Pads for Overweight Tacoma

OK, good to know. I will look in to that some more. 1, it's a camper rig. I updated my forum profile to show pic. 2, yeah.......... My truck is a 2nd gen, if that makes a difference to the tundra brake upgrade. I'll search over on tacomaworld forums for more info.

    Brake Pads for Overweight Tacoma

I have 16" wheels, so the tundra upgrade isn't an option.. I just got new tires, too.. Maybe I'll consider 17" wheels at my next tire change.. (I really like my 16" wheels and tall side walls.. But being able to stop is good, too). So, for now... Pads are my only option. I did start to look...

    Brake Pads for Overweight Tacoma

I've got a heavy rig.. 7000lbs. Stock size rotors. I want better pads than the ceramic OEM pads. I see plenty of marketing from aftermarket companies about better coefficient of friction. More stopping power, etc. I see posts from people saying almost anything would be better than ceramic...

Lowest PSI off road on stock mitsu wheels

Could you discuss the internal beadlock bladders? How well do they work? What do they do? Compress against the bead area to try to hold it in place?

    Camper and Truck Photos

Our last trip to Colorado a few weeks ago. Every campsite, we had a little rain, then a rainbow! Mountains and deserts. Took this shot w/ a fisheye lens, to get the entire rainbow in the shot. Edit, never though about it before, but my camper is at the end of the rainbow! Seems appropriate.
