Frame Strength, Who to Believe! The RV Sales Guy or the New Truck Dealer? Maybe Neither?

Except the Ram 3500 in the original post is a long-bed.

Time for a this vs that tire/wheel choice question

I'm not usually a fan of wheel spacers, but if the 315/70R17s will fit tightly without rubbing the UCA, then would a 1/4" wheel spacer give you enough clearance to use the 315/70R17s on stock wheels? It would be a low budget solution to the potential clearance issue.

    Window tint

Aside from possibly getting a ticket because an officer wants to issue a ticket for tint that is too dark, the LE issues can be avoided by simply rolling down the windows immediately during a traffic stop. Simple solutions. Like Transitions lenses for your car - I'd pay for that in a...

    2016 Ram Rebel Slow build

I like those Go Rhino RB 20s. I had a set of their Dominator D6 running boards on my 2014 GMC and never had any issues with them. Like the RB 20s, they weren't sliders, but they were much heavier than normal running boards and tucked up high and tight to the body. I'm not in a state that uses...

Frame Strength, Who to Believe! The RV Sales Guy or the New Truck Dealer? Maybe Neither?

Not defending any dealer, but that camper probably wasn't too heavy for that truck when it was purchased. Based on Ram's towing/payload charts, that truck should have a payload between about 5,000-5,500 lbs, depending on options. Without knowing how the camper was optioned, the manufacturer's...

Frame Strength, Who to Believe! The RV Sales Guy or the New Truck Dealer? Maybe Neither?

As always, buyer beware. It's on the purchaser to do their research to ensure that they are buying the right products for their needs. Research does not mean asking a salesman with a financial stake in selling something if product A will work with product B. They will almost always say "yes"...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

After a week or two it just becomes a habitual part of the start-up sequence: get in, start the truck, buckle up, push the start/stop button, plug in phone, and go.

    Ford’s new 6.8L V8

Velocity Blue looks good on every vehicle they’ve offered it on.

    Ford’s new 6.8L V8

That tailgate doesn’t say “Life Style.” If you can look at that picture and still argue that it’s not a Super Duty, then I guess you can’t fix stupid, but you can sell it super fancy Expedition. XL, STX, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited, Tremor - all Super Duties.

    Ford’s new 6.8L V8

No. This is just wrong. The Tremor is absolutely a Super Duty. Ford doesn't break their lineup down into work trucks and lifestyle trucks; they break the lineup into Maverick, Ranger, F150, & Super Duty. An F250 or F350 doesn't magically become not a Super Duty just because you spec it with...

Prices on EP Classified seem to be HIGH!

Raise the price - might get someone to jump on it before the next price-hike.

    Ram 1500 Bumper Recommendation Needed

Personally, I'd just hunt for an OE bumper at a junkyard. Should be pretty economical from a truck that's been hit in the front or side. IMO most aftermarket bumpers look out of place, especially on half-ton trucks.

    Ford’s new 6.8L V8

I found the same thing. I priced an XL 6.8 with the STX package and it was more expensive than a 7.3 XLT with comparable features/creature comforts. In fact, the XLT Tremor was only about $3,000 more than the STX.

    Hiking boots for little ones

Salomon makes some nice kids hiking shoes that can be picked up pretty economically at REI if you pick up the ones that are on sale.

    Falken Tires

I like to shop Tirebuyer.com, which is ATD's online retail arm. Many local tire shops are already supplied by ATD, so if Tirebuyer shows a tire in stock and available for delivery, you should be able to find a local shop supplied by ATD that you can buy the tires directly through (if you don't...

    Falken Tires

I had a set of Grabber A/TX and Falken AT3W on my GMC Sierra. IMO the Grabbers had better traction in every condition (mud, snow, dirt, gravel, rain), but I had to replace them due to high speed vibration on the interstate. They were not out of round and their road-force numbers were within...

    2017 Titan XD PR

That's a really sharp truck - blue looks good on it. My 2007 Titan was the most enjoyable vehicle I've ever owned.

    BIG CAMPERS

That's a really sharp 79 model. Ford, GM, and Dodge trucks from that era have all aged well with clean, classic lines. $36,000 almost seems like a bargain.

    BIG CAMPERS

That'll buff out. Just needs a new spring pack and some frame strengthening for the long haul.

I need to upgrade my truck to a 250/2500

Comparing 70-0 distances doesn't address the possibility of fade or pedal feel/modulation that contributes to braking confidence. Normally that info is buried somewhere in the article.
