Yeah @F350joe, some of the material sorta grabs your chest hair. I had a couple of shirts that did that ----- when you'd turn sideways or something, pluck, ouch. I think they were old Columbia fishing shirts but I'm not really sure on the brand. And the original Duluth Trading sun shirts gave...

    Ice blocks from vacuum bags?

I used to do this before we got our first fridge. I'd make blocks of ice in tupperware and vacuum seal them. Worked fine for about 5 day trips ----- but would decline fast at the end. ...but then you just drink the lost soldiers.... We didn't use dry ice though. That's pretty dang cold and...

    The best adventure travel boots.

Moabs are a fairly cheaply made boot with an EVA midsole that I can crush in one real hike. I've never met a full-sized hiker that liked them. I had a pair that I thought was the dog's bullocks ---- broke them in gently around town. Destroyed them on one hike. It's funny how different the...

That's alotta pump.... Their video says "supports up to 4 sprayers..." Remember that as your battery discharges during use, the amp draw goes up. So, say the pump is 200 watts and your new battery is resting at 13.1 volts. That's ~15.26 amps when you throw the switch. Take your shower, the...

DC We're assuming off-grid, 12 volt dependent. If you have shore power the entire topic becomes moot. When I have shore power I bring my household bunk heater and other goodies....

    Electrical diagnosis

That's a crap-ton of amperage to hit a starting-lighting-ignition battery with, especially one that's a few years old. A battery that's been in service a few years, beat on, has maybe 60% of its AH capacity left and at the ready. So that 100 AH battery might really be a 60 AH battery. And...

I found a similar one on Northern Tool's site @ 15 amps. That's still a lot. The fridge is probably only 5 or 6 when it's cycling.

Batteries have a finite lifespan no matter how well you care for them.... I just tore apart and rebuilt 3 UPSs and have to scrap one due to neglect. People think they can do their job forever without replacing the batteries. What a mess.

    Electrical diagnosis

I had two 122 AH house batteries feeding some lights and an ARB 40 L fridge. 100 W solar to feed them ---- and that was just about enough with our tree cover. When a battery says 100 AH, that doesn't mean you've got a well with 100 amps to use. Wish it worked like that... That's a big fridge...

    Electrical diagnosis

An old or worn battery (one that wasn't cared for and recharged properly) can show nominal voltage and only have 60% or less of its rated amp hour capacity. Amps add up. Batteries need to be recharged fully as quickly as possible after discharging. 12.5 volts is not a happy battery. Sounds...

I can't read the displays on my ham radios with polarized glasses either. Or use my Nikon. I keep a pair of Costco polarized under the seat for use on the water or at the beach.

I'm not into metal. Up until today I thought a motorhead was somebody who could tear down and rebuild an engine... The guy looked like BillyBob Thornton after a bad weekend to me.

You've got thousands of JK owners on Wranglerforum and only a few here ----- better odds of finding an answer in a larger sampling. I've had two JKs, a 2008 and a 2014. My '14 has had the radio replaced under warranty but it wasn't doing weird things like yours. I do have an electrical...
