Just ordered this A650 to Montero T-Case adapter, I'll get some better pics when it arrives.

Well I've bought several different donors and stuff BUT you can easily find a good donor car (complete running driving LS400) for well under a thousand. If the donor is a 4 speed you don't need adapters or anything, just wiring, custom motor mounts, exhaust, radiator modification Dakota Digital...

Scored another VVT-i 4.0 last night, this one has 123k miles so i couldn't pass it up. Also got the A650 from the same car.

The 1UZ VVT-i with the 5 speed auto will help a ton on the mountain grades AND the new first gear is the equivalent of having Aussie gears in the T-case. So, imagine how it will be off-road with Aussie 3.15's or even 2.27's?!

The Montero uses a stand alone Aisin trans computer, so our ECU only sees TPS and temp. So they don't exactly talk other than that and TV pressure. The Toyota stuff is integrated so it works differently.

1999 Mitsubishi Montero full size- How to remove third row?

All your seats are those shear bolts, I'm guessing Snap on makes a tool to get them off. I welded nuts to all of mine for removal. It sucked. Here is a pic of what they look like for anyone following along, you tighten the bolts until the head snaps off at a certain torque spec. Then the next...

The1,2&3UZ are about the same to make happy but they go into limp mode if they don't see a transmission. The 2UZ uses the truck trans and it works differently and the engines work easiest with their companion transmission. 1&3UZ are car engines with car transmissions, they work well in the...

Because the Toyota TCU is integrated into the engine management it makes it super hard to run behind the 1UZ. Essentially you'd want to swap the 4.7 to run the A750, so you'd then have a less powerful heavier engine BUT that engine/trans is the truck drivetrain so you have better T-case options...

I agree with Shovel, cool stuff is cool stuff. As for the engine fitting, we'll see.

I totally intend on documenting the swap, at the very minimum I'll draw up a wiring diagram and parts list. So, quick sidebar. The Sunday that i bought the 1UZ, i actually bought a non VVT-i car first. The reason being is that those cars share a 4 speed with the Montero so the swap sorta...

My street build is more offroady than most off-road builds just like my off-road build is more everything than anything. I'm actually copying your truck because i liked it so much and i planned on your help with the inside without actually discussing it with you... It's all aluminum and sorta...

I picked up a 1998 Base Model last Saturday, no sunroof, cloth seats and white single stage paint. A few dents but in otherwise good condition except the engine which is badly seized. The plan is for a more street friendly machine that still knows how to party off-road. PA_JERO and I tried to...

Gen 3 floor mats - No weathertech or husky?

Weather tech makes some for the gen 4, probably pretty close if not exact for a gen 3

    Is a 200k Gen 2 worth buying?

I just got one with 211k not worried a bit, already been driven into the ground (PO ran it out of oil) so this is an ideal starting point for me. I'll go through everything and it'll be all mine mechanically.
