Onboard Air / Compressors - Got one in your Montero?

I mounted up a MV50 wired to a Blue Sea fuse block and ran it to a 50A toggle in one of my blank accessory caps. Mounted the pump where the 3rd row seats used to bolt in, the original hose reaches all tires no problem. Not as fancy as some, but it gets the job done and was inexpensive (under...

Extended Brake lines with 2" coil spacers

Thanks for the pics, I don't think the montero using any sort of banjo fittings, they're like this:

Extended Brake lines with 2" coil spacers

Exactly, hopefully I can avoid using a hi-lift if possible. Like you said, an actual car lift would be ideal, but I don't have access to one anymore. Either way, should be a pretty easy job, I was mostly concerned about sourcing the correct parts.

Extended Brake lines with 2" coil spacers

I've already permanently removed my swaybar, I used the napa number for the brake line and found it on ebay for $10, so I'm going to pick it up along with the coil spacers. Hopefully I can get them installed with a floor jack and some stands, avoid the purchase of a hi-lift.

Extended Brake lines with 2" coil spacers

Does anyone know where I can find a pair of longer brake lines for when I install 2" rear coil spacers? I've heard it's a stretch to get them to fit, but I don't want the chance of a brake failure. I found a post on 4x4wire, but the guy is referring to a gen1 with gen2 coils. Will this part...

What did you do to your Mitsubishi today?

I got 15x8 Pro-comp wheels and 33x12.50 Wrangler Duratracs mounted up. When I was mounting them I found a brake pad had dislodged and was just sitting on the dust cover, so I'll be replacing pads later today too. Last week I removed the rear sway bar, installed KYB Monomax rear shocks, replaced...

    1997 Montero SR build

I believe this is the cheapest CSF I've found, others please chime in if you know of cheaper source. http://www.ebay.com/itm/161636875754?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

    Montero advice needed.

Your best bet is to just test drive them all. The Gen2, Gen2.5, and sport are all body on frame, so they will feel and drive more like a truck. The Gen3 is larger, heavier, more luxurious, and is unibody construction, so more like a typical crossover or car. Not to say it's lacking offroad, just...

    Montero advice needed.

I wouldn't consider LS, just wait for an SR with rear locker as Jay stated. As far as differences go, pre-97 I believe were DOHC, 97+ is SOHC version, it's up to personal preference, but the consensus seems to be SOHC is better based on the simplicity vs DOHC, less moving parts. Gearing also...

My '94 Montero SR Build (Ellie)

I saw a post where a 3000GT water pump seized up and the belt just cooked itself slipping over it. Judging from the look of that very rusty coolant pipe, this could be a possibility? I've only had one other time where the t-belt was torn up, a rock got lodged under the crank pulley between the...

My '94 Montero SR Build (Ellie)

Yikes, never seen a t-belt in that condition before. Still looks like it held on and didn't snap though, did it skip some teeth?

    Montero Pricing Guide

That's too bad about the paint, I'd have to say you got the best color available on these. It's always a bit concerning when I find pieced together bits on a vehicle, then I always imagine how many things could be on the brink of failing.

    Montero Pricing Guide

Do you have a photo of your truck? I'd like to see what 4-5 exterior looks like. Do you wish you had held out for a more solid truck or are they all rusty in NJ?

    Snorkel Fitment Gen 2/2.5

Thanks for the link, I think I overlooked that one because it says it's located in Puchong, Selangor, United States and if you check their seller profile it says they're in Malaysia. I'll send them a message and see if they do have the product in the US. Thanks again.

    Snorkel Fitment Gen 2/2.5

I found this snorkel on ebay, I believe it's the only one in the US. The compatible vehicle list is a bit odd though, states it is for a 97-00, but as you guys know, the 97 is a gen 2 without flares, and 98+ is gen 2.5 with flares, so it should be for one or the other, correct? I sent him a...
