    Keeping dust out

We have dry camped for over 50 years in various RV's - from camper shells as a kid, to our current Class A motorhome. When heading out to go off roading we often travel many miles on dusty dirt roads. As you know, all campers allow dust in somewhere. My solution is to pressurize the RV from as...

Insulated Window covers DIY or buy?

We just use the reflextix type material in our class A motorhome without any cover, and have done this for years. Insulates well and easy to install. It's cheap, light weight, packs down to smallest size, keeps the reflective surface facing, and most importantly...the inevitable condensation...

    Stainless steel snorkel

A turbo diesel engine requires a lot of air. Here is a good calculator to determine what you need. https://www.widman.biz/English/Calculators/CFM.html A quick test for adequate engine airflow is to make test runs with air filter, then remove the air filter top or filter, and see if your boost...

    Alternatives to Dynamat?

I have used this brand many times with great results - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003TUNRGM/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 On my 1985 LandCruiser, I lined the floor 100%, most of the doors and rear 1/4 panels, and as much as possible of the firewall. I placed this material...

Hyside Pro Series Padillac II inflatable kayak for sale

I know it's early for water fun, but we are going to move and would like to move this now, rather than move it later! A reasonable offer, but not free. Thanks

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

There is an ass for every seat, and I'm sure Jeep will sell the Gladiator for a premium. What I don't understand is how people believe manufacturers tow ratings. Anyone who actually tows more than 5,000 lb trailers, IMHO, understands a short, narrow, and light mid size truck or Jeep, or even...

    BFG KDR2+ 35x10.50x15 Dakar

I don't care what tire people run, I wanted to point out that the statement "Tires are DOT" was incorrect.

    BFG KDR2+ 35x10.50x15 Dakar

No way that is DOT when sidewall has molded "Not For Highway Use" and "For Racing Purposes Only!" Will you get a ticket...maybe, but have an accident and see what happens. There is a reason BFG molded those words into the tire.

    BFG KDR2+ 35x10.50x15 Dakar

The side shoot has "Not For Highway Use" dead center on sidewall. At least this model is not DOT! Interesting tire though.

NASA Vehicle Aerodynamics studies - Very interesting read

On a serious note... Check out "Vortex Generators" for the rear sides of your project. One of my friends runs Scaled Composites. He and a few of their "Smart" people run them on all their boxy vehicles. They claim it helps fuel mileage wise, and seem to work as the vehicles rear areas stay...

secure pots, pans, plates etc. storage

I use soft non slide shelf lining between the pots and plates, and on the shelf in our motorhome and and storage boxes. It works, it's cheap and easy to use, and weighs nothing. It also protects the finish.

    Satellite internet

We had Hughes at our remote property, and it was very slow. But, it was service. We were lucky to have a government research station set up near us a few years ago with a 4g cell service. An acquaintance with a off grid cabin has a much larger antenna he uses with Hughes. He claims the size...
