Day 7 Bar Pin Eliminator install. Currently, I have removed my front bumper for trimming and adjusting the fender plastic. While I had the bumper off, I thought it would be good to test the clearances with the bigger tires. After taking note of what I will be trimming, I unhooked the bottom of...

Day 6 Rugged Ridge Floor Mats. Theres nothing better than being able to pull your floor mats out and hose them down. For my camping trip adventures I choose Rugged Ridge 12987.22 Black Floor Liners Kit. Custom fit for the WJ Raised edge provides containment for spills and dirt

Day 5 Washer bottle relocation. So a common modification for many WJ owners (with lifts) is to move the washer bottle out of the wheel well so it doesn't get snagged on while flexing the bigger tires. So the other day I grabbed a washer bottle from a 1998 Grand Cherokee and found a spot under...

Day 3 Been keeping my eye out for some rubicon rims and came across these the other day with less than 200miles on them. I really like the looks of these rims and they will be a nice upgrade from the delaminating chrome ones I had on there. While I was at it, I decided to replace the TPMS...

Day 2 Time to upgrade the braking with some Powerstop Akebono brake calipers, drilled and slotted rotors with z36 brake pads. I'm not a huge fan of the red calipers, but hey, I guess the Trailhawk trim has the occasional red accent to it. Brakes perform well and slotted rotors will be a nice...

Day 1 First thing to do is get this WJ Leveled out. Having a few miles, it seems the front sits are about an inch lower than back. To help level it out, I installed the Rough Country Front .75in spacer. Took me about 30min to do. No spring compressors were needed. Next I welded in some new...

Boring Maintenance Post I decided to separate out some of the boring stuff like maintenance items. There are a ton of things I will be doing as maintenance that don't really contribute to the goal of this thread, (which is to bring this WJ up to a par with the TRAILHAWK badge). So here are a...

Hi Outdoorsben, after reading your comment, I was curious and went to check the equipment list for my VIN and found "Up Country Suspension Group" listed under OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT. (See Below) As far as some upgraded wheels... I'll be looking our for a set of JK Rubicons!

TRAILHAWK is a Jeep trim level on many models that stands for the best trail rated version of that model from the manufacturer. It isn’t necessarily the most luxurious, or in many cases even the most expensive, but it is the most capable of the various trim selections. The special trim also...

Day 24 Offroad Lights I finished the offroad lights and switch as well. I wanted something practical and also wanted to keep the nose aerodynamic. I found these LED offroad lights on ebay for $16 and a switch and harness for another $15 2x 6inch 18W Spot LED Offroad Light. My wife says my...

Day 23 Touch Screen upgrade This last week, I installed a touch screen. I'm not a big fan of touch screens and the old style radio works just fine for me... but with the full size tire now covering 20% of the back window, I figured a back up camera would be a nice feature. I also love the...

Hatch works great. I had to use some high powered shocks to help the hatch lift up. I love the Tire Hatch upgrade. Now issues so far. One of the best mods, as I can keep a full size spare on the back and have extra storage on the inside.

Thanks for your comment! Gas mileage is about 26-28 staying around 70mph. Its very important to keep a low profile roof rack or no roof rack at all. A roof rack will cause a bigger decrease in mpg than the larger tires. For the way I drive and the roads I drive on, there isn't one mod I would...

Day 22 License Plate Relocation Yesterday I relocated and integrated a trailer licence plate frame into the fascia of my rear bumper. It is also hooked up to the park lights and illuminates with 3 small leds. I had to relocate my license plate because of my tire carrier.. so I guess now I can...

Day 21 Cargo Pockets upgrade Cargo Pockets are done. I used an old cargo net from my Jeep Grand Cherokee (ZJ) and CAREFULLY cut it and modified it to make net cargo pockets to hold my paragliding gadgets (wind meter, radio, altimeter, gloves etc) I just drilled a series of holes then poked the...

Day 20 Hatch Mounted Tire Carrier Just thought I would add some pictures about my tire mount addition to my build thread. I got this idea from seeing the Renegade at the SEMA 2017 show. So I worked out some calculations and started putting together some parts. I first found a lift support that...
