For about a third of the price, I could not be happier with my Bell... identical adjust-ability to the Giro, and likely to do about the same thing if you ********** your head on the ground.
EDIT: I see there is no price difference between the Giro and Bell, I wasn't aware of that... my LBS must...

I have a rear door spare tire rack from Thule on my FJ Cruiser... I like that location for the bike as it seems the least likely place for it to be damaged from brush and whatnot.
The biggest problem I have with it is that it takes very little time...
I'm preparing to go on a bike tour myself... the cost is very low to get set up for it (compared to the crap we do in trucks at least! :Wow1: ).
$1,500 will get you plenty of bike... there are vastly more expensive ones of course, and many cheaper. But for that kind of money you're definitely...

This is normal... my aux battery and NL stuff is mounted to the floor directly behind my drivers seat. It definitely has a big clunk to it - I think because it's a huge solenoid! :ylsmoke:

The dakota has a pretty massive amount of flex in the rear. The IFS on the front is pretty much rigid (side to side), getting up on this rock was accomplished almost exclusively with rear flex.
Corbin's rear is yummy... err...
