I haven't had a chance to go through all 82 pages, but this is a great build. What a find on an existing box on the truck. Can't wait until I have more time to check it out.
Thanks! Sorry on the delay getting back to you. Been busy with a new member of the family and finally got back to working on the rig, installed a Honda 3000 generator last month.
Yeah its equal track front and rear. The wheels are reversible so only 1 spare is needed and you can rotate if you...
Checked out the video, nice to see it all put together. Been following your thread for years now, great job with the build! Motivating me to get mine painted.
Started a project to get my spare tire swing down done. Goal is to be able to fold down the tire either to remove it for use, ortake the camper on and off with it folded down. Can't do a swing out jeep style or it would hit the jack when pulling the camper off.
Made it with a stop at the top...
You've been busy! It looks really good with the Line-x and colors!
I think your rig is pretty amazing and the idea you had behind it. Everything is really coming together, I bet it feels good to get the rear structure squared around too. I don't know of another rig that you have that kind...
Thank you! I don't have any regrets anymore. Buying the truck at auction with no bed saved me half of what a new one was and you are right, I'm still under the new price substantially or if I had to buy another chassis cab I would be too. After reading some other build threads whenever you...
Thank you!
It handles great actually. I was really worried about the higher COG and larger sidewall but it handles very well.
Tracking - It seems to track very well. It doesn't seem to jump back and forth between the lines in the pavement as much as the stock dually tires.
Noise - It...
Toolbox
I forgot to add that I also managed to get my onboard toolbox organized and figured out a way to keep all the sockets from bouncing around. I bought a regular plastic tool chest from Sears and cut it all up and added a hinged acrylic lid over them! I know, fancy, but it works... Also...
41" Goodyear G275's
A few months ago I tried to do an update through my phone and thought it went through, but apparently it didn't! In any case I have been busy the last 6 months, mostly with life and getting married and not as much building truck. However I finally did get the tires...
Old replies but I figured I'd chime in as I've just gone through a month long balancing process with my tires and they have improved alot!
You can solve that by installing 2 air filters into the holes in the beadlocks. Stazworks came up with that solution.
If you are running bead locks you...
I am under a similar opinion on my build.
Would love to have the air ride, but just can't justify it. Great price with $1000 off new!! Made me think twice.
Curious what you're using for helper bags in the rear?
Yeah, already committed to stazworks, just waiting for them to be done. I need to look up how to move the axle forward, and I am going to put some washers to space the bumper forward for now until I make a new one.
Any recommendations on a 12v air compressor?
Also called Earthroamer to try...
Inverter and battery mounts
Took the evenings of the last few days to redo the battery mount and install another larger inverter. I originally bought the Xantrex 2000 pure sine inverter but it wouldn't run the microwave which is what I bought it for along with the keurig. It would start the...
Yeah, sometimes I think of the price and have a little buyers remorse as I usually like to build it myself or somehow find a great deal, but what's done is done and it looks great in my eyes. I only wish it WERE chump change and the porche was mine! 🤣
I did shop around, got quotes from...
Yeah, I've been a customer for Aerotanks for awhile now. 11 years ago I got a replacement tank for my F250 that was 52 gallons or so. It was the same construction as what they are doing with the midship and bolts nearly to the same places.
I took that F250 with either 34" or 35" tires ALOT...
Wasn't really running the right chains at all. I knew I was going to change my tires size so I only carried the standard chains for the old SRW truck I had that are too big for the smaller tires this truck came with. It only covered one tire of the dually and was hard to get on as its not...
