    This truck is unbelievable good

Why do some Toyota guys have to jump in to bash the Land Rovers? I love my LR4 and plan on replacing it someday with another LR4 when / if it gives up (Original timing chains at 120k thanks to 5k oil changes). 385 HP and 1325 lbs capacity in a car that handles off road like a champ and the 12+...

2011 LR4 HSE Build and Service

Next up on the maintenance / repair schedule - replace drivers side exhaust manifold gasket (I’ll let the shop do this as it looks like a tough job and I don’t have the time to do it). Hopefully this will cure the ever present check engine light for good. As a side note, I don’t know if the...

2011 LR4 HSE Build and Service

I recently had the rover into the shop for a valve cover leak and ongoing check engine light due to emissions. They determined the PCV valve was bad and since the R cover was leaking, I agreed to have them swap out the covers. After looking into doing these myself, I determined that it was a bit...

I ordered the Melvill & Moon canvas seat covers and installed them about a month ago. Really high quality. I had considered the other two high - quality covers from the US, but I really wanted a breathable natural canvas material. I think pricing was similar although turn around time was about 6...

2011 LR4 HSE Build and Service

I recently had the 4 in for replacement of the recall fuel tank flange. While there, the dealer did a multi-point inspection which included an air/fuel ratio CE light. Among other things, they stated it needed all new exhaust and catalytic converters to the tune of about $10k. No kidding. A...

Put new front brakes on the other day after having Lucky 8 send me EBC discs, pads and a new sensor. The dealership wanted about $1500 for that job. Parts cost me about $450 from Lucky 8. They use their LR’s to what I would say is their design limits so I use what they recommend. I did have to...

The Gobi Stealth showed up on Thursday. Well-packaged, high quality product! A thought about how I chose the Gobi rack over others. The first was that its made in the US (yes, I understand that my car wasn't). The style of it, while shorter reminded my of the older style Safety Devices racks...

I finished some work on the drawers last summer also, but never shared. I still have to do the actual drawers which I hope to have time to work on after our move in July. Vent hole for the fridge location. I put it there so it's accessible to the passenger while on a road trip. It was also flush...

Got the TuffAnts installed a while back (last summer...). Wrapped in Cooper Discoverer Rugged Trek 265/65/18 XL's. They were great for our trip out west - put a lot of miles on and off pavement on them. Not too loud and love the look of the black steelies. I'll probably find some Land Rover...

2011 LR4 HSE Build and Service

It's been a minute since I got back to this. Had a job change (a positive one), sold a house after adding a bathroom, bought a house (well, we close in 3 weeks) and planning a move. But prior to a trip (Montana, Wyoming, Idaho) LAST summer, I did get a couple things done. Added a simple iPad...

I am. Have the boxes done, but not the drawers yet. I’ve been getting a house ready for sale, buying a new house, moving etc.. but we did have time to camp in Montana this summer.

    2007 Mercedes / Dodge Sprinter Van 2500 Fully Converted - $54,500

I’ve seen this van in person. They’ve kept up with all maintenance and caught up any deferred maintenance from the previous owner. They did a great fully custom wood interior and lots more. Disclosure- this is my daughters van so I’m biased! It’s in great shape and ready to go!

2011 LR4 HSE Build and Service

Started the drawer build for the back a couple days ago on a good weather day when I was off. I built drawers some years ago on my 4Runner using cheaper plywood and sliding on carpeting. They weren’t fancy, but they worked. The second set for my LX was the kit from Land Shark Outfitters that was...

    Roofrack box?

I would think there’s a commercially available box that may even be comparable in cost to the materials (and effort) that would meet your needs. There’s so many different ones especially Thule and Yakima.
