Well put Mike, this is a private forum and yes we do have rules about vendors actively marketing their products. The reason that vendors do not have to identify themselves is that we have several that are quite capable of sharing their wealth of information and participating in discussions...
I made my own for our TechniTop, but it was more like a sleeve using two flat sheets stitched together that had cut outs where the velcro is (technitop velcros to the base, not sure about how others are secured).
Being a native Coloradan I know about cold and I have found that the best solution is; drive South. :sombrero:
Seriously though I use a hot water bottle with a double layer fleece cover that I made for it, people laugh until it's cold and then I hand it to them in the morning, it's still warm...
We don't have the special tool (though I've seen it used and it's pretty slick) and we have had to use that method many times.
I took a tire repair class (thanks Martyn) and have always been curious if I would be strong enough to break the bead with tire pliers. Turns out that I'm not at least...
The quest for the perfect chair is an ongoing one for us. There is no other piece of equipment that we have had a more difficult time with. I have repaired chairs, cut the poles down to fit in the right space, stitched seams reinforced arm grommets etc. etc. etc.

The size of the chair when folded is a big issue for us so I don't think the MacCabee chair would work (though it looks like a very comfy chair). Many of the regular "umbrella" chairs don't work either because they are too long when folded to fit in the alloted space. The Pico is 1/2" too tall...
Anybody have experience with both the Kermit and the Pico? We have gone back and forth on the matter and have even contemplated getting one of each so that we can decide for sure.
This is absolutely vital for a long overland trip too. Walking into an embassy to get a visa in clean clothes, and a fresh shave (for the guys) gets a much more favorable response, it shows respect for the people that you are there to see.
