I took mine off and threw them in the bush, I couldn't tell a difference with them on or off when going down the road. they do hinder droop when wheeling. I am not sure they are worth the effort. Sorry, I no longer have mine.

Modify M101 or build new "Horizon" copy cat

I am contemplating building a new trailer and copying the Horizon design from Adventure Trailers or customizing my M101, and would like some others opinions. I am not sure which style of trailer I like better, or that would suit my needs better. I want to have my Engel in the trailer, have a...

How ‘bout a weight loss challenge?

Day of weigh-in and progress report: Monday Plan of Attack, Diet: Eat breakfast. I haven't eaten breakfast for over 30 years on a regular basis. Currently Oat bran cereal, porridge, and poached eggs on toast with juice. Leave food on my plate at dinner (take a smaller portion), I have always...

How ‘bout a weight loss challenge?

Light weights..... 6'1" 320 as of today. I'm in. Started after losing 15 lbs on our trip to alaska. All my pants now need a belt, it feels good. Not sure if I have a goal (maybe that's bad??) but I gotta take off the pounds. I don't think I came out of the womb under 200lbs but as a start...

    2M Antenna Recommendations?

Is any body using an antenna attached to a bull bar out front on their trucks? What are the disadvantages to doing this? Lower antenna location? I would think the grounding would be OK. I was thinking where my CB antenna is now after I ditch the CB for the ham. I like it out front as I know...

    Introduction/Certification/Experience Thread

New to SAR as well. Our City of Saskatoon has only had a group together for about a year. My wife and I are both getting involved. She is going to do the GSAR to work in the command post and I am working with a group of other 4x4 owners in a mobile unit. Hopefully training will go well this...

    New MAC, desktop or laptop

We have been using a MacBook pro as our only computer for about a month now, switching from an older PC. I am only mildly impressed so far. We have had two crashes and one of those required a call to Apple. They tell me that I should have bought the 4mb of ram instead of the two that we got...

    Combo grill stoves

I think the complaint with the coleman is boiling a pot of water on the grill side. It works excellent on the burner side, we boiled water for lots of meals. We used ours everyday in Alaska and think it is a great value. Always started, cooked hot, cleans up nice. My only complaint is that...

    thinking of buying this trailer

it's junk. Sorry, but it is. It will be heavy, and by the looks of that tongue, it may not be built all that well. For another couple hundred you will be able to find a new utility trailer that will suit your needs or keep your eyes out on the used market.

Teach him a hard entry for fun times like this. But also teach him a soft entry for new water with unknown obstacles lurking just below the water.

Lock and Roll bolted on to truck

That's a good point. I sent off an email to Lock N' Roll to see if they have a solution or would/are designing an option to bolt on. It really would make sense for them to offer this option.

Lock and Roll bolted on to truck

Nope, I think that's what I am going to end up doing. Basically I will remove my pintle and attach the plated that has the ball mount tab on it. I won't know exactly how it's going to work until I get a coupler in my hand.

Lock and Roll bolted on to truck

Has anybody modified the truck portion of the Lock and Roll coupler to bolt on to the truck instead of using a receiver? I am currently using a pintle on the truck and would like to avoid having a receiver drop down any lower then the bumper I currently have. If you have a picture or any...

My scratch built expedition style trailer build up thread

Now that you have had it out a few times I would be interested in what you really like about it and what you would change for next time. I have decided to take the plunge and make a copy of the AT Horizon, as I feel it will suit my needs the best. I bought the steel for the frame last week...

Building up my rear cargo area...few questions

I have both, kinda. You can see that the back of my "bed" the last 10" or so is hinged for access from the top. It works well. I can also pull the drawers forward with the seats flipped forward and access them that way. I don't store any recovery gear in the drawers anymore, as access to...

TheGillz Explo Off-Road Trailer via Geotracker90 Build!

The best way to do things: degrease: This is done with hot water and soap. before blast so as to not impinge any soils into the metal. blast: gets you a great surface (lots of peaks and valleys) for the paint to adhere to. A great step if you can afford to do it on trailers/frames ect...

TheGillz Explo Off-Road Trailer via Geotracker90 Build!

I just wanted to share my experiences with powder coatings. I'll start off by saying that I sell and service industrial coatings (which includes powder) for PPG and have been doing so for 15 years. In my experince the first question you want to ask is what are they doing for pretreatment...
