Sorry I can't show the picture yet. As the swing-away spare tire carrier is welded to the rear bumper. The rear bumper is not mounted to the truck yet (fabrication of frame mounts yet to be done)
The rear bumper is mounted to the truck at a elevation to be one inch below the rear storage box...
I envision it is open the whole time I'm at camp.
As access to the rear storage box is priority one. The storage box door is a table to work on in addition.
Update: I'm building a 60 wide 15 deep, slide out tray. For loading and unloading since the fold down door is 34 deep.
Rear bumper is finished, ready to fabricate frame mounts.
Who knows how to hold the swing-away rear tire arm open so the wind does not blow it closed, unattended?
Maybe I use these

Monthly cost much less than $50 (since you can pause starlink)

Its funny how many refuse technology changes. I'm on the starlink mini decision with a good GPS tracker for $100

I would agree if I did not own the startlink and I do. The starlink provides thousands of other options not only navigation. And in most cases emergency help.

Just did a cardboard 37" tire template to position the spare tire carrier plate in the correct position on the swing away tire carrier. Planning on a winch mounted above it.
Maybe the 12v winch should not be hard wired. Rather use a 12v extension cord directly to the truck battery when required.
Cab is tall.
Funny how I get concerned about the tall cab dimensions and measure all my components to check on habitat, cab clearance. It works out fine.
Yet two months later, this concern is there again and I start measuring. And it works out fine again.
Hence expedition vehicle builds are...
