    Need laptop suggestions

Asus transformer book is another good option. Its a windows laptop that you can seperate into a 10" tablet. It's smaller, but I like that for camping.

    On board shower

Subscribed - A lot of people like the heat exchanger for hot water. Its more compact, gets hotter, and doesn't need propane. Despite these advantages, I went with the Eccotemp E5 propane shower (for now). I was worried about adding a possible failure point to my cooling system, and I was also...

    On-Board Heat Source (Stationary)

I tried using a Mr. buddy for heat, but it is a bad idea if you use a heater much. These types of heaters produce a lot of condensation that ends up producing mildew and dampness inside. When you want heat, you really want dry heat, not humidity. Go with the Propex, it exhausts the moisture to...

    battery box

Yes, that is fine, no venting needed. As far as grounding goes, you just need to ground to what ever fuse block you will be running back there ( to complete the circuit). I like the Blue Sea fuse blocks, but there are a lot of good ones.

    Cracking Diehard Platinum?

I think it is cosmetic, I believe that plastic is just a cover to the battery case. Its there so the handle can be recessed.

Battery tray for Sears Platinum group 31 P1 for bed of vehicle

As the title suggests, I'm looking for a good tray/Box/Hold down for a Sears group 31 to mount in the bed of my truck. I would like it to be secure, but not super heavy. I don't need anodized purple flames, and I don't think anyone will be shooting full metal jackets at this thing, but I would...

    Tacoma Dual Battery build

It is $229.00 shipped from Australia, there are no U.S. distributers yet. It does come with a dash mountable rocker switch for manual jump start. The amp rating is a bit light, I wish it were 500 continuous.

    Tacoma Dual Battery build

Looks great, I'm looking to do something very similar, but I'm going to use the Intervolt EBI PRO, its a MOSFETT battery Isolator that lets you program the isolate voltage of the two batteries, and also the the combine voltages...

Switching my life to "not Jeans". Can I get some recomendations for good NON JEANS

I have to outfit a large work crew in khaki colored pants for my business. I've tried many brands, and so far Arborwear has been the one everybody likes and raves about. Very reasonable, extremely, durable, and great mobility: Costs about the same as Carhart, but they are way more comfortable...

Anxiety is your imagination looking into the future for potential problems, inventing scenarios, and then freaking out because your brain can't control all of the things that can possibly happen. The brain's job is to solve problems and prevent disasters, the problem with imaginary scenarios, is...

Dual Battery Group Buy - Intervolt EBI PRO

I am going to purchase the Intervolt EBI PRO which is an adjustable MOSFET Isolator from Australia. Solid State 100amp, W/500amp peak rating. It is going to cost about $240.00 with shipping (Less with group buy). The unique aspect of the EBI PRO is that you can program the voltages for when you...

Will I have charging problems? (solar, 2 batteries, auto-bridging)

The group buy is a great idea! I am still trying to figure out if I want the Traxide usi-160 Or this: http://www.intervolt.com/products/electronic-battery-isolator/ebi-series.aspx The Intervolt EBI Pro has a few advantages, the voltage for combining and isolating can be adjusted in .01V...

Will I have charging problems? (solar, 2 batteries, auto-bridging)

Ideally, your two batteries would be identical type, size and age. Hooking up solar to your house battery is fine, it would also be fine to hook it to the starter battery because your batteries spend the majority of life combined with the sc80. If the cable run is long, you should probably hook...

5 min video tour of my finished Hawk build.

That was great, thanks for sharing your build, and making the video. I don't have time to read through everyone's detailed build threads with pages of conversation, so thanks again for making a video and showing all those great details!!

Our (so far) successful dual battery system...

Has anyone ever used an adjustable voltage isolator? By this I mean an isolator that doesn't disconnect the batteries as soon as it senses a draw, but allows both batteries to stay connected until it hits a threshold. For instance, you could set the isolator at 12.0 volts and it would keep your...
